Well where to start!!!!! On Friday last week (its now Wednesday) I broke a tooth or had an old filling fall out not sure which, its at the back and I can’t see for sure, as it was the weekend I had to wait till Monday to phone my dentist (not easy to get through anymore) they told me they would ring me back!! On Tuesday I once again rung them as I had not heard from them and no missed call, I was checking why they hadn’t called me back, they told me they had tried to call but said I didn’t answer?? My husband got me a few times that day with no problem!! She said she would check and get back to me!! It’s now weds and two calls later I am no further ahead than I was last Friday when my tooth problem started, last time this happened with a previous dentist I ended up in hospital for 2weeks with a bad infection and as I could not eat my diebetes went out of control and I got ketoacidosis which could kill!!!! Hence I’m a little worried I have NO IDEA when and if I will be seen, I guess I should be ok in October when my next routine check up arrives they can do two things at once omg!!! Maybe it will be sorted then????? Has anyone else had this sort of experience with this dentist, my actual dentist is amazing that’s if you can get an appointment to see her ??
Update!!! They finally came back with an urgent appointment a week away!!!
Thankfully I have just registered with a new dentist, one who you speak to direct and no que or put on hold yeh!! I have an appointment to check my tooth tomorrow so at least it’s a step forward!!
Sadly I’ve signed of the dentist in this post I tried to ring to let them know but I couldn’t get through, i told them when they finally rung me back!!!
I have been with this dental practice for nearly 20 years as an NHS patient. I have now been forced to leave. Over the last few years things have got worse but post COVID the service has been awful. Whatever time of day you call you are on hold forever listening to terrible music, interrupted by their private care adverts throughout. The receptionists are rude and dismissive. It is very hard to get an appointment even if you have an emergency. This year my appointments have been getting more and more spread out. Children should be seen every 6 months but they kept pushing back their appointments too. My filling fell out and I was told to repair myself and waited 6 months to be seen and then it feel again a further 3 times. My dentist has since started working part time for NHS and my appointments got pushed back and back until she has completely stopped working for NHS now. The practice has not recruited any more dentists so my only choice is to go private. Well no thank you. Not with this practice. I feel like this has been their plan all along. To make my experience so difficult that I accept private care. Let’s remember NHS patients still pay. I am a customer but 1a dental has no customer service or care for patients.
I would not recommend.
I understand the current situation is political and probably lies with government but this practice seems to be looking out for its profits and not patient care.
Don’t bother, this dentist is not only impossible to get an appointment but also I find a recent situation completely unprofessional! I arrived for a long awaited appointment…to be told that the dentist light is not working and they would need to cancel, they did not contact me despite having my contact details…having taken time out of work this was frustrating…Even worse a few weeks later…I called for an emergency appointment as I now have pain, then then called me back to say they won’t see me as I missed my last appointment!! Just awful treatment
