I had decent initial service, a follow-up whitening service which was ok, and was scheduled for a removal of a front tooth. I paid for a guard that would house a false tooth to wear until the bone graft healed. They did not order it despite me paying for it. My appointment for the removal of the tooth is tomorrow.
They seemed to be confused that I would not move forward with the bone graft- despite my tooth being incredibly loose..I made it very apparent that I wanted to maximize my benefits and asked for an appeal of that pre-authorization denial. I asked my payer- they did not even appeal the denial.
Either way, I could have still had the removal IF they had ordered the DME (the retainer with false tooth.) I am not walking around with a tooth missing in the front of my mouth.
When they called me back, they stated, “per our last conversation, we did not know you wanted to move forward.” So, why have you been holding on to $600+. That should have been immediately refunded if that were the case. I’m going to file a quality complaint with my payer. This is insane.
I am glad I found Dr. Fan. I had a bad experience with my last dentist. When I went there it was as if I hardly saw her. She had a large practice and a team of hygienists seemingly doing all the work. I always left with lingering pain. Dr. Fan did most of my cleaning himself, especially the ultrasonic scaler, a source of extreme pain for me in the past. I’ve always been good with pain, mind you. He also spent a great deal of time speaking with me, leaving me with a much better understanding of my overall dental health. I highly recommend him.
With +19 years of experience, Dr. Fan is a pro. I went to to his clinic over a year ago for a deep cleaning. Then, continued routine cleaning with him. He also placed a crown over one of my troubling teeth about two months ago and it’s been working like my real teeth. He explain things clearly and makes sure you understand what’s going on. I trust his judgements and highly recommend him.
