Please be advised, Dr Jasic no longer works at Current River Dental. She was the only dentist I trusted. Had I been aware of her leaving, I probably wouldn’t have continued going for regular cleanings. After my latest experience, I will not be returning. When you book the appointment, they ask if you want to just see the hygienist or if you wish to see the actual dentist. I stated I was only going in for my yearly cleaning, no need to see the dentist. The hygienist cleaned my teeth and told me everything looked good. Did not say anything about seeing a cavity. Then she tells me the dentist will be in to see me….I asked why when I had not requested it? In walks Dr Meta, who I’ve never met before. Looks in my mouth and quickly declares I have a cavity. Why would the hygienist not tell me if it looked like I had one? Or say anything at all? Why say everything looked good if it wasn’t? So I was immediately suspicious. Dr Meta then asked me what fillers I wanted, white or silver. I felt rushed and unsure. I looked over to the hygienist and asked what she thought. She was silent. Dr Meta answered and said something like “well white is harder to take care of….” I felt safe and reassured when being told my teeth looked good and then immediately scared and thrown off guard when the dentist said otherwise. Thank goodness I was there for a fluoride cleaning and wasn’t able to immediately get the “cavity” filled because the whole experience made me feel so uneasy. I didn’t fully trust what was being said to me. Something felt off. I started going for regular cleanings after not seeing a dentist for 10+ years. I’ve never had a cavity in my life. Now tell me why after 2 years of regular cleanings and dental visits, I’m being told I have a cavity. I have good teeth and good dental hygiene. If anything, I actually started taking even better care of my teeth the last couple years. So this doesn’t make sense to me. I’m not saying it’s impossible to have a cavity but I’m getting a second opinion. Of course my bill was much higher than usual because I was graced by the dentists presence. I paid $268 out of pocket as I don’t have insurance. To come back another day to get my tooth drilled and filled would have been an additional $200+. (I believe I was quoted $240?) I truly feel like I was being taken advantage of. People have enough dental anxiety, we are quick to trust the word of our Dentist, how would we know otherwise? After doing some research on cavities, some dentists may choose to drill immediately when there’s a small cavity to reduce it getting bigger and other dentists will take the other approach of leaving it alone until it becomes a problem. Neither way is wrong, it all depends on your dentist. However anxious, unsure me sitting in that chair didn’t know that, I wasn’t presented with the wait and see option, I didn’t get asked what I wanted to do. I felt rushed. It felt like a money grab. After this experience, my trust at this dental office is gone.
BEWARE!!!
I’ve been going to current river dental ever since I was a child. The last time I was in for a cleaning (9 months ago) I was advised I had a cavity but they did not show me the x-rays or tell where it was. I didn’t think anything of this until after I had the cavity filled and the dentist had told me he had to drill really deep and he may not have got it all so I might have to get it filled again… i was so upset.

Fast forward 9 months. I recently moved and had to start seeing a new dentist (thank god). 9 months after having a cleaning and X-rays done at current river dental I was informed by this new dentist that I had seven cavities. They showed me all of the cavities on photos and in my x-rays (unlike current river dental did). For reference, I take very good care of my teeth, so this news was extremely alarming. The new dentist said this isn’t something that happens in a few months and is something that happens over long periods of time. One of the cavities I was shown by the new dentist was an area I had complained about to Current River dental for over 10 years and they said it was nothing (this was the worse cavity of all 7). On top of this, during my cleaning at the new dentist the hygienist told me I had lots of built up tartar up in my gums. This tartar can only be removed by a hygienist with their little metal scaler (which is why you go for cleanings). The hygienist told me she can tell that this hadn’t been done on me for what looked like years. The tartar build up is nothing you’d see to the naked eye, it’s up in the gums so I was unaware. Current river dental was really doing nothing during my “cleanings” and check ups. They’d so some minor scaling and slap on chunky fluoride for me to leave with. They also don’t polish your teeth anymore ever since switching locations. I now have years of dental work to catch up on but I’m just really thankful I moved on from this place.

This place has slid downhill since Dr. Jasic left.

After many years of good dental service, the last few years have been full of nightmares as a result of poor communication by their new dentist(s). To summarize, I had a tooth that developed a cavity, then I was faced with the option of a root canal or a filling. I took the filling and the filling failed a year later.

Suddenly I needed a root canal. After a year or so of waiting for an appointment (perhaps the delay was due to the pandemic) I received a root canal in Feb 2022. A couple weeks later I had a cleaning at Current River dental where the dentist checked over my tooth and I came out with the understanding that the procedure went well. 6 weeks after my root canal, my tooth fractured in half.

At no point was a crown put on my tooth, there was no attempt to schedule a crown for my tooth and I especially did not come out with the understanding that my tooth was extremely fragile.

Since then I’ve spent over $5000 (at a different dentist) receiving complex dental surgery for an extraction, CT scan, sinus lift, bone graft, all to get a dental implant to replace this tooth that never should have been broken in the first place. Thanks Current River Dental.
