Reviews:
8 years ago I had Invisalign treatment with another clinic and had top and bottom wire retainers fixed. Fast forward to April 2024, a piece of my top retainer broke (my fault) and I booked an appointment to get it fixed in this Epsom Smiles clinic.

First the receptionist booked me in incorrectly, saying that there will be enough time to get the retainer fixed the same day. There wasn’t. So I had to book an appointment for the next day.

I came in next day and after 1.5 hours trying to attach the retainer to my teeth, the dentist complained how hard it was and said she needed to move on to the next patient. Leaving me with inability to fully bite as one piece of bonding glue was so big that my bottom tooth was constantly pushing it. I raised all of this during the appointment and again she said it’s very hard. I left thinking I’ll never come back again.

Now, 2 months later, a piece of bonding glue got detached fully and the wire is just exposed.

I’ve had a retainer for 8 (!) years with no problems, but the one fitted by this clinic lasted barely 2 months and caused so many inconveniences.

PS400 charged and now I have to get it done again. Obviously I’m not going back here and warning everyone. Shame I can’t remember the name of the lady who did this to my teeth.

Avoid and spend your money somewhere else.

Having previously given a five star review I visited a fortnight ago for a checkup and sadly I feel that Epsom Smiles has gone badly downhill. The excellent dentist I had seen previously has left and I was assigned a different dentist (Usama). My appointment was the last one of the day and he took less than five minutes to inspect my teeth; I have never had such a quick check up in all my life. Despite me telling him that I was experiencing pain when biting on one side, he didn’t check the tooth again, or take an xray; his advice was to use Sensodyne toothpaste. I’ve subsequently researched toothpastes and found that Sensodyne helps with hot and cold sensitivity, not with biting pain. I’ve experienced significant pain when eating on that side since then but am put off going back to Epsom Smiles owing to this bad experience. I no longer recommend Epsom Smiles.
Glad to see that I’m not the only one annoyed by the constant leaflets being delivered from Epsom Smiles – The record so far is FIVE in a week, with THREE being delivered on the same day. After a break for a few months, they’ve started again, on a Sunday! This is despite me living 5 miles from them, so Who knows how many dentists are between me and them – they must be desperate for business. They blame the Post Office, and suggest people contact them, however it is Epsom Smiles who has engaged them. Apart from a waste of money, this is not very green. I also tried to book a PS29 hygienist appt, only to find that I also have to book a examination and x-ray at extra cost.
