My first impressions of both the clinic and the communication were good. All seemed very professional and the Dr made use of lots of modern IT to show me what they could do cosmetically. At EUR18,000 for a complete transformation. I was clear that I wanted the veneers and crowns, a. For aesthetics, but b. To be able to enjoy eating crusty bread and peanut M&Ms again. It all went down hill from there.

Here goes with all the negative…..keep reading as it gets worse and it is a huge investment in your teeth….that may really negatively impact your life.

1. On several occasions the Dentist made early morning appointments which he turned up over 1 hour late for. I had to remind them on several occasions that my time was valuable too. They took little notice.
2. I knew hours on the dentist chair would be no fun, but treatment times are greatly extended as the dentist treats several patients at the same time….you are one of many.
3. At no point did they explain the trauma to my mouth, in particular my lips. When they file and floss your teeth with the metal, the constantly cut my lips. I had cuts and cold sores all over. They stretch your mouth beyond comfortable, lean on your face, so you carry their weight . I had migraines all the time during treatment.
4. The temporary veneers fell off and although they refitted them I could hardly eat anything, but assumed it would be better with the real ones, which I was advised would be guaranteed….huh! I will get to that soon.
5. I had the real veneers fitted and was told by the Dr that the lab said they were the best veneers and crowns they had ever done. They looked fantastic. I thought it may all have been worth it.
6. Initially I had extreme pressure sensitivity and to hot and cold. I thought this was probably an initial thing and would pass….Nope! I get painful chewing fatigue well before the end of a meal. I cannot eat anything at all from a fridge or oven. All my food now has to be room temperature.
7. The front teeth are so blunt, I cannot bite through spaghetti or even a cooked courgette. It has caused me to choke many times. Did the forget to sharpen them?
8. One front veneer has fallen out twice. Not eating nuts or toffee…no! Once eating a scone and the other a small chocolate. This is only 6 months after treatment.
9. Some people, who may be as, or more vain than I am, may still think the aesthetic worth it, but 6 months in and they are discolouring already.
10. I have called, WhatsApp’d and email the surgery through their website and received no reply at all.

I would not recommend anyone gets veneers, nor uses this clinic. It is way too much money to go through all that to end up with painful, falling out, discoloured teeth.

De la Clinica Dental Davalos y Balboa solo puedo tener buenas palabras. Yo acudi a esta clinica por recomendacion, para que valoraran un tratamiento de ortodoncia que llevaba anos pensando y ha sido todo un acierto. El Dr Juan Carlos Garcia Davalos es el que ha llevado mi caso, segun el un caso dificil pero con un resultado muy bonito y asi ha sido. Es un excelente profesional, siempre con un trato amable y cercano hacia el paciente, desde la primera consulta me dio total confianza. Estoy muy agradecida con el resultado y con todo el proceso de estos 2 anos que no me ha parecido nada pesado como me imaginaba antes de iniciar el tratamiento. Tambien queria mencionar a Lola y resto de equipo de administracion, por la buena organizacion de las citas y los recordatorios que siempre realizan. Me ha sorprendido la puntualidad con la que me han atendido durante mi tratamiento sin apenas tiempo de espera. Recomendaria esta clinica con total confianza. Un equipo excelente.
