Update: only editing to put more detail into my experience. I went in for a cleaning. A few weeks later, my mother said she’s getting texts about owing the dentist a good bit of money. She should not be getting these texts since I went in and got my insurance updated to my own. And they have my phone number on file, so I don’t know why she’d be getting texts. I called to get this fixed, they said they will get it taken care of, and I moved on. Texts were still coming through. Long story short, they were still charging my old insurance that was no longer good. I called them at least 5 more times and was met with rude answers. I was brushed off for the last time and I went up there during my lunch break to ask for the paperwork so I could submit the claim myself. The woman who had been speaking to me on the phone had a deer in headlights look when I told her my name. She knew exactly what I was there for. Since I went in person, they decided to actually do something about it. They waited so long to fix it that my claim had closed out. I stood there and kept telling them to print out the claim but they couldn’t even figure out how to do that. Eventually the office manager came in and got it done. I stood there until it was finished. Literally took her 5 minutes. Why couldn’t this have been done the first time? This whole mess took MONTHS to fix. Let me just say, that would have never happened with the old staff. Unfortunate they got bought and it’s a completely different dentist now.

Original review: I’ve been going here for 20 years and absolutely loved it. Now they sold the practice and have all these new people and it has completely gone downhill. I’ve never had this many issues with them before. The most recent issue is that they said they filed a claim with my insurance when they did NOT. So they tried to charge me without even getting in contact with my insurance. Unbelievable. I tried to give them several chances but they have no idea what they’re doing. I’m not going back.

My visit was not so good. First of all I have going to this office for over 25 years the two visits that I have had has been different. All new people different attitudes. My visit on this last week to me was very unprofessional when I arrived I had to ask if Dr.Cox was still there at first some of the staff didn’t know then I talked to a female dentist and she said he didn’t so my question was why I wasn’t notified that my dentist of over 25 years didn’t work here anymore I feel like I should have been told that way it would be my choice if I wanted to stay or go. Probably will seek a new dentist some of the new staff not all is not friendly like it was.
I had just moved so I didn’t have a dentist locally and I had a filling that broke. Me not knowing what it was thought my tooth broke so I was kinda freaking out, especially not having a dentist. I called Cox Family Dentistry the very next morning and they were able to immediately get me in and fix my issue. The next day they gave me a new patient exam and they are now my primary dentist. Everyone was super nice and professional helping me with my issue. I recommend Cox to anyone in the Anderson area that is searching for a new dentist!
