Reviews:
I broke my denture and needed to find a dentist to start the process of making me a new set. I made that very clear to the person on the phone when I made the apt. It was great that I called and 45 mins later I was at my apt. The front desk people are lovely and friendly.

I was brought back to a room that hadn’t even been cleaned. So I had to stand on the wall and wait for the room to be cleaned. The lady working with me was wonderful. She made me comfortable and was proactive while waiting for Dr. Johnson. Apparently everyone else was more important. My apt was at 130pm I finally saw the dentist for 3 mins flat at 230pm. I had impressions made while waiting. He told me I couldn’t wear the dentures I had broken (well duh, they are literally cracked in half completely). He used fancy talk said that he was going to fix my broken denture (which I was told is not possible) and then make.my new.denture. the hydenist explained to me why he would do that. Not the dentist after I asked twice and got no response.

He did something on his computer and said they would tell me my options as I checked out. The person checking me out didn’t seem to understand what was going on. I had to explain what my insurance needed. What had been done (impression). What was the next step. Then the dentist made.sure to make me.feel bad that I didn’t have another $1,000 over what my insurance would cover. So I couldn’t get “the better” dentures. I would be stuck with the basics that were really not that good he kept saying. Pretty sad that the dentist would sY that at but it shows they really only care about how.much money they can suck from you. Truly disappointed, but I have no teeth currently and have to get new dentures so I have to go to them as I have started the process already. Pray I get decent teeth!

DO NOT GO TO ASPEN DENTAL!! When I called to set up an appointment I told them I wanted a cleaning but when I got to the location I was told I needed to become an established patient before they do any work. Ok, that’s fine, let’s do this all in one visit. But that didn’t happen. During my first visit, they measured my gums for periodontal disease. I have had this done every visit with no real issues but the hygienist that did mine poked so far down into my gums that I had blood pooling in my mouth numerous times. I have NEVER had this before. She then proceeded to tell me that I had periodontal disease and that I needed to set up two appointments (one for each side) for descaling/cleaning. I have no gum or teeth issues. I have NO swelling, redness, bleeding, or sensitivity. I set up the two appointments. The first one I was given a regular cleaning using toothpick-type tools with not a lot of “chipping” away at tartar/plague. NO other tools/lasers were used. She did inject one tooth with an antibiotic. $299 out of pocket for the first visit. Next visit she does the same thing as above but on the other side of my mouth putting antibiotics on 3 (If I remember correctly) of my teeth. $773 (after insurance plus I bought the electric toothbrush ($135), which I love) for that visit. I believe they are in the business of getting as much money out of their patients by telling them that they need all this work done when in fact they most likely do not. I should have looked at the Google review before going there. After reading the bad review you will find a reply from Aspen Dental stating “I wanted to let you know that I did pass your feedback along to our Customer Service team so that they could address concerns with the team in Holland…” I wonder if that even happens.
Where do I start? In June I had an appointment with South Holland Smiles, it was absolutely awful and left me feeling like doctors were a waste of time and money. I was taken advantage of and mocked by their staff, see my review on their page for the full story. Anyway, in a last stitch effort I decided to book an appointment with Aspen despite some of the poor reviews they have online. Within 10 minutes of my appointment they’d already done so much more for me than the prior dentist did. I was greeted by Justice (I hope I remembered that right), she was literally such a breath of fresh air. She took my x-rays and listened to my trauma story about the other dentist, she was lovely. The entire staff was patient, knowledgeable, respectful, and friendly. They listened to any and all concerns and helped me plan out a realistic dental journey to begin on. I left the office ready to cry tears of joy and relief. After so many appointments of being ignored by medical staff, these people actually cared. NOT TO MENTION!!! Your first appointment is comped by them, they want everyone to come in and get checked up regardless of your economical status. I got four times the amount of work done at this office, than I did at S.H.S. and I didn’t owe $160 for it. PLEASE, IF YOU’RE CONSIDERING A NEW DENTIST, SEE MY REVIEW ON THE OTHER PLACE AND COMPARE IT TO THIS ONE. My experience with Aspen has been incredible and they’d made the dentist a place I enjoy again, so thank you to all of them. They were even short staffed and still did a million times better in every aspect. 5 Stars
