Reviews:
I went to Aspen Dental because of their advertising for free exam and x-rays if you don’t have insurance. I just wanted a checkup and a cleaning, I was not having any issues or concerns. You have to pay $39 to get this “free” offer. I will say that everyone that I came in contact with was very nice and professional. With that being said, I got my treatment plan fee for $8,654, my share $6,677.50, which included a hygiene/cleaning for $613.50 for deep cleaning, Arestin antibiotic for gingival irrigation. None of which I needed. I went to another dentist today for a second opinion. I had a complete exam with their dentist and hygienist. I had a regular cleaning and was told that I was doing a great job taking care of my gums and teeth. I paid $98.01 with a senior discount for that cleaning. I feel that I got ripped off at Aspin Dental, with their overtreatment and upselling of procedures. I will not be going back because of their unscrupulous and unethical ways. I feel that I should be refunded the $39 I paid, the whole experience was very upsetting.

I found this article to share:

Your dentist may be ripping you off. Here are 7 tips to help you avoid it.

2) Beware practices that offer deals to get you in the door
The dental practices that advertise heavily and offer deals — like a free cleaning or free whitening — often do so simply to get you in the door, so they can prescribe you a big treatment plan for work you may or may not need. Disproportionately, they’re corporate-owned, national chains, like Aspen Dental.
“These big chains are kind of dental mills,” Mindy Weinman, a Buffalo dentist and dental school professor, told me for my previous article. “They’re the ones that give you the free cleaning, and the free exam, then they tell you that you need $3,000 worth of dental work.”

There’s an invisible problem in dentistry: some dentists using “creative diagnosis” to perform unnecessary work in the interest of making extra money.

All I can say is that I really regret coming here.My experience today( my last visit) was just another example.I was in for my second cleaning of the year and they made me pay(again not a real clear explanation why),even though it was insured.Couple that with my previous visit with the Dentist, which consisted of a 5 minute exam and a lecture, just not worth the trouble.TERRIBILE communication as well. Having said all that ,the Hygienists I saw were great and did a great job.Save yourself some grief and go elsewhere. I CANNOT wait to see the flowery response to this review!
Kind, non-judgemental staff keen on supporting me through my anxiety. Staff moved heaven and earth to ensure my needs were met with compassion. Gentle dentist and hygienist. Calm and clean atmosphere. Consulted through all steps of the process. Beautiful experience. I have neglected my dental care due to phobia of the dentist and past poor experiences, and today I got served with kindness and made my future appointments to improve my health. Thank you!
