DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILD HERE!

I decided to bring my child here after being referred by the other location of this practice. I scheduled my appointment with Dr. Kahn who was supposed to treat my child for 6 cavities.

When I arrived, I had to wait over an hour before we actually went back to the room. Not a big deal but was never informed or checked-in with to let me know that they were running behind or whatever the case is. It’s a common courtesy to be told if there are longer than normal wait times. When we get called into the room, the cries of another child were so loud and painfully hard to hear. When the assistant walked in, she explained explained that my child would need to be restrained and that this is standard procedure in case he moves. Dr. Kahn walks in without introducing herself and begins to reprimand the assistant because the rewards for children and her favorite pen were not in the room she was just in. I honestly could not tell if she was joking or not but very inappropriate and unprofessional either way. She exits the room and comes back in and asks my child to open his mouth and tells another assistant that he will need x-rays. To my surprise, I was curious as x-rays had been completed a few months ago and I asked why and she barked: “it’s only one” and I said how come? I was not in favor of him having an X-ray when they could have obtained these records before his appointment and didn’t feel that was necessary. They did not have the x-rays and could Dr. Kahn COULD NOT give me an explanation as to why my child needed another x-ray. Even if they did have the x-rays and needed one more for a valid reason, I would have agreed. But this was super alarming because an educated and competent dentist should be able to explain things to parents regardless of their insurance status, race, class, gender, etc. Instead Dr. Kahn shouted to go elsewhere and I walked out and I’m so glad that I left. I read the reviews after the fact and I feel like I dodged a bullet. She didn’t appear empathic or capable to work with children and I fear for those who leave their children in the hands of this woman. While I can’t speak to her work, I can speak to her demeanor, which was quite repulsive and embarrassing. Save yourselves the time and go elsewhere. Based on the reviews below, it seems like nothing happens to Dr. Kahn and she remains at this practice unbothered continuing to treat people poorly, including their own staff.

Do not have any dental work done by Dr. Julia Solov. If possible, completely avoid this dentist. Find another clinic.

Tenga cuidado al realizar cualquier trabajo dental con la Dra. Julia Solov.

About two weeks before this review I went in for cavity fillings. During my flossing routine a chunk of filling came off which was followed by constant pain in the tooth affected.

I went a week later. Dr. Julia Solov proceeded to barely inspect my tooth. The entire check up was less than 3 minutes. Dr. Julia Solov said all my cavity fillings were there and she did not know what was wrong almost as if what I was saying was false. She did not bother to spend any more time potentially looking for the cause of my discomfort other than her 30 second glance and tapping on my teeth. No health care professional should spend only 30 seconds examining a pain or discomfort a patient is experiencing. What health care worker spends only 30 seconds to examine an issue? An absolute and utter disregard for any concerns I raised and a waste of my time with this “professional’.

Her only comment and recommendation that my cavity was too deep and to come back in one month and left the room. She proceeded to have a very dismissive and unprofessional demeanor acting like there was nothing she could do. Ridiculous, and unacceptable

I am not surprised when I saw her reviews at other dental offices which all say similar things. Check for yourself and google Julia Solov. Save yourself time and find a real dental clinic.

DO NOT LET DR. ALLA KAHN SEE YOUR CHILD ALONE!!!
My 6-year-old had his tooth removed today, and we had the worst experience. First, Dr. Kahn is rude, does not acknowledge the parent, appears annoyed, and has zero patience for children. My child is always surprisingly cooperative with the dentist, but she quickly put him in full body restraints as soon as he moved. He could’ve used a break between injections, but since she works in a rush, she removed his tooth and ignored his cries. Worst of all, the chair was flat while he was in restraints, and I heard my child gurgling and choking on his blood after the tooth extraction. As an emergency room nurse, I know when a child is distressed, so I got up to request immediate suction. Dr. Kahn yelled at me to sit back down, put her hand in front of me, and told me to get out of their way. My child appeared to be in so much pain throughout the procedure, and I felt utterly helpless. This doctor has no compassion for the child or the parents. Both my child and I left that office traumatized and will never return. I can’t even imagine what other children endure under her care when the parents aren’t allowed in the room. Please avoid this dentist at all costs!
