For example, I initially called and asked for metal braces and the receptionist scheduled an appointment… I took time off work to come in and was told after waiting 20 minutes that they don’t provide any metal braces only Invisalign . I already knew I couldn’t do Invisalign, that was why I had called asking for metal braces specifically! The employee had insufficient training around the basic services the office offers and as a result I lost $200 in income and was inconvenienced.
Another time, I was told I had a treatment plan already by the front desk over the phone but then when I went in they stated I needed to pay for a new evaluation and treatment plan (even though I already had one from a few weeks prior). It was confusing and once again I had taken time off work only to uncover that my expectations had not been set properly. Had I known it would be a much higher cost I wouldn’t have scheduled the appointment. Once again I lost $200 of income and this time they wanted to charge me even more. Fortunately, doctor Dinh waved the charge due to the miscommunication, but only after I had to complain and explain everything in depth with her.
Overall, I lost $400 in wages for appointments which shouldn’t have been scheduled in the first place. There should be consideration that individuals take off work for appointments and so care should be taken when scheduling every appointment. Both of my appointments led to no treatment, were an inconvenience, and led to uncomfortable conversations surrounding the miscommunications due to the misinformed and disorganized staff.
Honestly, I do regret ever going to this office. I have been much happier with my new dentist. Once the staff has better training this will be a better place to go for dentistry. I did not retain services and so I would like to think when services are provided, they are done well.
