The dentists, dental assistants and hygienists here are exceptionally skilled and empathic. The facilities are excellent with plenty of state-of-the-art equipment and materials. The receptionists are courteous and work hard to keep things running smoothly. I wonder about certain problems that seem to recur that might be resolved with a change in directorial policy and an improvement in the management of space. There is a masking policy in this facility that is coherent with the times and with the centre’s mandate. That said, nobody is enforcing this policy so there are plenty of patients wandering around without masks, despite a sign on the front door asking them to do so. The centre is located in a city with extreme winter weather but very little by way of accommodating boots and coats. I used to place my boots in the closet next to the reception desk. In recent years they have placed a boot tray in a glass vestibule between the front door and the interior doors. Patients are expected to leave their boots there and I was reprimanded last year for continuing to put my boots in the closet. When I arrived yesterday during a significant ice storm, the boot trays were once again in the unguarded vestibule where anyone walking by could see them and take them. There were no boots in the trays. I removed my boots and put them in the closet, hoping that I wouldn’t be reprimanded a second time. Nobody seemed to notice. However the reason that there were no boots in the trays was that all the other patients opted to continue wearing their boots which left me walking around in my socks in other peoples wet boot puddles. I have hesitated to comment on these issues because I don’t want to cause trouble for the staff. The people working on the front lines here are efficient and kind and I don’t think they need to be policing errant patients. Perhaps it’s just a question of providing boot trays in a place where footwear will stay warm and out of the way of potential thieves. They could place trays in the closet and condemn a seat or two in the waiting area for overflow. I’ve been going to this clinic for years and the waiting room is never packed. I’ll remember to bring a pair of indoor shoes the next time I come. I would also suggest adding additional signs concerning the masking policies along with making sure that everyone on staff is aware of the precise policy for masking. I hate wearing a mask but I’m more than willing to do so in a clinical setting or in circumstances where I know it could lower the risk significantly for a vulnerable person. It annoys me if I’m the only one adhering to the policy.

The dentist overseeing my oral health has demonstrated great professionalism and meticulous attention in every examination, offering invaluable advice and direction.

The clinic is very new, modern and clean with the highest sanitation standards in the field.
