We were visiting the Charleston area from our home in Durham when I developed an agonizing toothache over the course of a weekend. It was with great trepidation that we went to the nearest dentist, Charleston Family Dentistry, in hopes of some relief. Surprisingly enough, we were treated as though we were members of the family and had been patients there forever. The staff was just about as friendly as humanly possible, offering comfortable seating and drinks and a snack. I was taken back by Emily and x-rayed and prepped for Dr. Ruiz. Dr. Ruiz is like no other dentist that I have visited in 70 years. He is personable, friendly and extremely competent. He treated me as a friend rather than as just a patient. Frankly, my wife and I talked later about saving our dental needs for trips to this area and just adopt this practice for all of our dental needs – they are THAT good! I would recommend this practice to anyone without hesitation.
Charleston Family Dentistry is my favorite in West Ashley! The staff are always so kind and efficient. Dr. Barrows remembered that I was getting married this summer from my last visit and gave me free whitening strips! This kind and genuine gesture will never be forgotten. Also Rozanna, my hygienist, was very knowledgeable, gentle, and nonjudgmental while cleaning my teeth. The receptionists are also great at setting up appts in advance and sending out reminders and accommodating any adjustments needed. This office always makes me feel welcomed and comfortable! I will always recommend this office & Dr. Barrows 🙂
I must say I was thoroughly impressed with Dr. Barrows and the professionalism of the staff at Charleston Family Dentistry. At my initial appt Dr. Barrows took the time to tell a bit about himself and made me feel comfortable from the start. He made sure the treatment plan he proposed worked with my financial situation and best of all he treated my time just as important as his own. They are certainly my go to dentist now and I only wish I had started using them sooner! I highly recommend them to everyone!
