I just brought my 2-year-old twins in for their first appointment yesterday. It was absolutely fantastic! The waiting room alone was amazing! The staff was INCREDIBLE! The dentist even sang to my son while he was working on him and it almost made my heart cry! SO SWEET! I truly want to give this place 5 stars and the only reason I am not is the financial part. I have Medi-Cal which they do not take. I read the reviews of the only place in chico that takes Medi-Cal and just…. no. I wouldn’t subject my children to such trauma. So, I called Chico Pediatric and told them I would be out of pocket and needed to know how much it would be. They quoted me $100 to $150 per kid. What they failed to tell me while at the appointment was that the quote they gave me ONLY covered them looking at their teeth. The cleaning was an extra $100. The fluoride treatment was another $66 per child and they put something else on one of their teeth for another $45 (that one I understand being extra charge because it was something that was above a normal visit). So, to get a bill at the end for almost $500 when I was expecting $200-$300 was devastating to my finances as a single mother! We really need to be told more up front about pricing because I would have had to prepare a LOT better for this appointment. I am going to have one heck of a hard time recovering from this surprise. But overall, it was well worth the money! My twins enjoyed their visit which is priceless and we WILL be going back. I will just have to have a dentist savings fund.

Dr. Roos is hands down, the best pediatric dentist out there. His staff are wonderful and my kids actually WANT to go to the dentist! They take time to make kids (and parents) feel comfortable and put a lot of care into the services they provide. We recently had to change dentists for insurance reasons and ended up coming back here for a second opinion, and were saved from an unnecessary sedation procedure. We can’t recommend Dr. Roos and his team highly enough. If you want your kid to have the best possible dental care, this is the place to go!

We have been going here for three years. Dr. Roos is great with the kids, explains everything to them and gets them involved. Everyone else is friendly and has been great to work with as well. They have a really cool waiting room play area too with a rocket ship cockpit that is entertainment for all ages.
