Reviews:
The last time I went to a dentist (Clinique Dentaire Dre. Tran-Viet) to have an X-Ray done because of minor pain. I was told by the dentist that there was nothing wrong with my teeth, I just needed to use special toothpaste. She gave me a trial size tube of Colgate Pro-Relief. I paid $40 for the consultation including the X-Ray and toothpaste. At Dr. Ho’s I got Dre. Radja who charged me $155 for something similar. Basically an X-Ray with no treatment. I didn’t even get a free tube of toothpaste. Proximity was the only reason I decided to try Dr. Ho, but I rather save money. $155 (or considerably less usually) is what I was paying for an X-Ray AND filling with Dre. Tran-Viet and most other dentists. My last few dentists also gave discounts for uninsured patients, something I should have inquired about before booking an appointment.

She also didn’t put the dental codes on the bill. So I can’t even see what I am paying for, that they are in line with guidelines, how much for the X-Ray? how much for the consultation? how many units of time. We don’t have insurance but human resources help employees pay part of their dental bills. However, they want the official dental codes because they don’t help us with certain procedures and products like laughing gas, teeth whitening or other cosmetic procedures.

My bill just say “For dental services rendered.”

While Dre Tran-Viet wasn’t cheap she is a lot cheaper than Dre. Ho. I never had a $155 bill from her, typically $110 or $120 for a filling and X-Ray after the uninsured patient discount.

I am sure they are fine dentists for patients with deep pockets, good insurance or for whatever other reason money is not part of the equation. But if you are paying yourself, you might be better to find a less expensive dentist. Like a dentist who offers discounts to the uninsured.

I won’t be going back, it’s fine for people with insurance who don’t pay themselves but I will be going back to Dre. Tran-Viet even if it’s a bit further from where I live now. I will gladly drive 20 minutes to pay $40 instead of $155.

As far as pain, I don’t know because I didn’t get a treatment. But if you are price conscious like me, shop around, ask your friends, family and colleagues what they pay for a cleaning for example. You’ll find a reasonably priced dentist in no time.

I just got back from my first appointment here and I was immediately impressed. The clinic is clean and modern and staff are professional and friendly. Dr. Ho came to welcome me personally and took the time to discuss my options. I wasn’t aware I could leave a routine cleaning pain-free until I went here!
Such a wonderful group of people ! The receptionist Leanna and Zara very polite helpful and always smiling . All the Drs they take there time to explain all procedures , the hygienist is professional and very sensitive to your needs. Highly recommended !!!!!!!
