This is my experience. Yours may differ.

I needed a new dentist because my old dentist (shout out to Dr’s. Roman in Hackensack) stopped accepting my insurance. I loved both Dr. Roman’s. They were knowledgeable, kind, and all around awesome. It was they who told me that I needed to get braces and after my braces, I needed to discuss getting implants. Ok. Kewl. They recommended that I go see an orthodontist. Shout out to Dr. Lipkin in Westwood.

When I went to see Dr. Lipkin, he said to me: “You have a very good dentist because a lot of times, patients are sent here after they get implants and then there’s not much I can do bc it’s too late. Your dentist did the right thing by sending you here first.” He confirmed what I already knew: The Romans were the bomb. Dr. Roman and Dr. Lipkin kept one another in the loop. Dr. Roman would ask Dr. Lipkin to do things to make “more space” and he complied. They were a team.

So. I was CRUSHED when Dr. Roman no longer accepted my insurance bc I was still in my braces. I understood, though. But, I needed a new captain to steer this ship.

So. I searched for a new dentist through my insurance. I found this one. Walking in, the place is clean and it smells great. The staff is extremely friendly and professional. I met a dentist and she said she would come up with a treatment plan. I made another appointment for a cleaning. I will say that that appointment was much quicker than what I am accustomed. And, I noticed that no dentist came in afterwards to review her work.

After the cleaning, I was brought into an office and spoke to a person whose name I cannot remember. She, essentially, wanted to go over the treatment plan and to discuss beginning my implants. *record scratch due to what Dr. Lipkin had previously told me.* I was still, very much in braces. How could you start implants when you have no idea where my teeth are going to be? I politely declined beginning my implants at that time.

Some time later, I received an invoice from this office. In all of my time with Dr. Roman, I had never received one for general exams or cleaning. So, I called the office and the explanation made little sense. The invoice was only $40 or so, but this was strike 3 for me. I told them that I would pay the invoice, but to close my account with their office.

The woman who brought me into the office called me to find out why I closed my file, and I told her. She tried to backtrack a bit, but, no. My mind was already made up.

Again. YMMV.

After coming to this place for many years and always aware that the charges were high I decided to go to a different Dentist, then a few months later I had an emergency with a tooth so I had to go back to Dental arts of Hackensack. I clearly asked them, that before they did any work to let me know how much I had to pay. They said $50 for the annual deductible plus $30 I said okay. They did X-rays and also did work on the same tooth that the other Doctor had done worked on, plus more work in another tooth. In general this company does extra work to overcharge you, so the insurance company only paid $8 they disqualified the majority of the work be cause they had been done in less than a year. Dental arts of Hackensack sent me a bill and I ended up paying them out pocket more that I had been told.
BECAREFUL with them they will overcharge you.
I’m truly pleased with todays visit. I have to mention that Nadia was amazing and her sense of humor made my experience as a new patient at this location one a kind. She was sweet and informative with any questions I had. And I really like the educational videos they play before any procedure you get done. The team at Dental arts of Hacensack are amazing and Dr. Molina was great.
