I’m reviewing dentist ALAA ZAINI.

She’s kind and talks to you with respect. Other than that, my experience couldn’t have been worse. I went there in 2018 without complains, just for a checkup. When I left her office, one of the tooth she ‘took care’ didn’t stop to hurt, and I called back asking to see her again because the pain just didn’t go away. In my call, I explained very well what was the reason and that for being the same tooth, there was no reason to be charged again, I needed her to just take a quick look to see if there’s anything wrong.

There I went and for some reason ($$$$$) they needed another X-ray, and during consultation, she just said that it takes some time for the pain to go away sometimes, but that there was nothing wrong with the tooth. By the way, they wanted to charge again – I got shocked and decided to express all my frustration before paying, when they finally decided to have some shame and didn’t charge me once more. I’m writing now in 2023, 5 years later, with the SAME pain (it’s not all the time, but when I eat and it’s awful… come sudden and sometimes I scream out of pain and have to excuse if I’m in a public place) and, after 2 doctors (for some time in between I couldn’t go back to dentist) today it was finally found that my tooth was CRACKED all these years. I was sent to a specialist to confirm the diagnosis before having to REMOVE my tooth, which apparently is the only solution that exists.

I don’t know why so many good reviews, I feel devastated for having to lose a tooth due to professional’s incompetence. Maybe you’re not going to have the same misfortune I had by going there, but know that if you rely in such type of professionals, you’re simply gambling with your health.

Dr Mauricio Assumpcao is the best dentist I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with (I’ve had several dentists in the past and have been with Dr Mauricio for over 2 years). He and his team are extremely professional, thoughtful, and skilled. His informative and transparent approach should be studied by every dentist; I always feel I am involved in the decision making process concerning my dental health, and I am never left wondering whether a dental procedure needed to be done. He makes concise recommendations with clear explanations why. I always feel fully taken care of. Shoutout to Ronaldo, who always has the kind and diligent foresight to apply vaseline to my dry lips before any procedure to prevent any discomfort.

Another special mention to the hygienist who did a full cleaning for me a few months back (update: her name is Andrea). Her work was comfortable and extremely thorough – best cleaning I’ve ever had. Will be asking for her again.

Reception team are excellent. Bilingual, friendly, and competent. Never any surprises when billing me and always assists with insurance claims. Sometimes hard to get through to them by phone, but c’est la vie.

Very reasonable prices. Not the cheapest but not at all expensive. Trust me, with dental work, you don’t want the cheapest.

I have tested out many dentists in Montreal in my search for a permanent place, and this team definitely won. Modern, clean, friendly care and very punctual, in beautiful offices. The procedural prices are very reasonable and they always bill insurance directly, which is SO important. In dental emergencies they can also usually fit you in within a couple of days. Highly recommend and so happy to have found this clinic. Thank you!!
