Unfortunately, Dr. Moisseev recently left and the new dentist is Dr. Pantazi. Here is what happened in a recent visit. I brought my daughter in for a cavity filling, a procedure that is relatively simple. Her previous dentist even managed to do more complicated work (an extraction and a spacer) without full sedation, by simply communicating well with my daughter, explaining what was going to happen, etc.
With Dr. Pantazi, there was very little communication. The Dr. was more focused on getting the work done. When he began applying local anesthesia, my daughter raised her hand because the pain was too intense. Instead of acknowledging her pain and stopping for a few seconds, Dr. Pantazi simply asked his assistant to bring her hand down and continued on. I told him my daughter was trying to communicate that the pain was overwhelming for her, and he needed to stop and talk with her. At this point, my daughter was already trying to turn her head away, and holding back her tears in pain.
When he finally stopped, Dr. Pantazi simply took off his gloves and left the room, stating “there is no such thing as pausing”, and we should go to a pediatric dentist instead. My kid was left with her mouth partially frozen for an incomplete procedure and a traumatic experience. It’s never fun going to the dentist, but in my opinion this was unacceptable, and if you are not willing to spend a few minutes of your time to build some trust with your patient (specially a young one), you should not have accepted the patient to begin with.
I still commend the staff working at the clinic, they are extremely kind and professional, and helped us with the aftermath of the situation. I dedicate the single remaining star to them.
I went to my car & saw the damage to my teeth. I went back in telling the reception (whom was also his assistant), she told me to
sit in the chair so he could have a look. He denied he created the damage to multiple teeth & said that was there before, which it wasn’t. He started to raise his voice with me. I said “please do not raise your voice with me”. He then got defensive and said “you’re lucky I’m not going to sue you.” Then told me to get out of his office w/ a raised voice. I was in shock being treated this way. As I was leaving, he was in his office & said “you’re such an ‘azzhle’ (he said the actual word).” He treated me horribly. I will not be going back, I’ve made a complaint to the Dentist department (VSSONR). As I would like to protect others. You have been warned.
The doctor and the hygienist (Emily) rushed the procedure. (Not patient at all!)
Also, the staff members were talking about how they can get cheaper products for dentistry in front of the patients, which is so unprofessional.
I couldn’t reply to your response so I am adding it to my first review;
First off all, I wrote the review on behalf of my boyfriend and for sure we are gonna follow up that.
Secondly, I wrote one review for my hygienist! after what you have done in your clinic i realised i really have to appreciate my hygienist’s work!
AND NOT ONLY I DON’T WANT TO BE YOUR PATIENT I AM WRITING THIS TO LET OTHER PEOPLE KNOW NOT TO CHOOSE YOUR CLINIC.
Sincerely,
Kimia
