I chipped my upper front right tooth in 2023 and Dr. Burr fixed it. I chipped the same tooth recently at the end of June 2024. Once again I went to Dr. Burr not thinking or questioning his quality of work since this was the same tooth he fixed just a few months back. When he was done fixing the tooth I told him I was unhappy with the appearance so he buffed it out a little more but it was still visual. I left unhappy knowing I would have to live with a visual crack across my front tooth. Later that day I started to feel the area that was repaired a bit loose, it felt as though the whole area was going to come off. No more than two weeks after Dr. Burr fixed the chip the area chipped again and it felt like it was going to come off at any moment. I called Dr. Burr’s office Immediately and made another appointment. I started to think about this whole situation and decided I had given Dr. Burr enough opportunities to fix this tooth. I called the office and left a message to cancel the appointment. My husband did some research and found another dentist for me. I had the work done this morning and this new dentist did an amazing job. He is detail-oriented and a perfectionist and my tooth looks natural you can’t tell it was chipped. Unfortunately, I had to pay out of pocket for the new dentist’s office to fix Dr. Burr’s unsuccessful work because Dr. Burr’s office submitted the claim to my insurance company for the same chipped tooth. I called Dr. Burr’s office today and asked them if they would consider reimbursing me for the out-of-pocket expenses that were imposed on me to correct Dr. Burr’s work and repair the chipped tooth. An office representative from Dr. Burr’s office called me back and was completely unprofessional from the start, with guns blazing, no good morning, no empathy or consideration for the situation they put me in. She had an attitude, defensive, and aggressive, and took absolutely no accountability. She said you had an appointment with Dr Burr and you cancelled it so we will not reimburse you. I explained to her that I had given Dr. Burr several opportunities to fix the tooth with no success and therefore lost all trust and confidence in his ability to do the work correctly. She seemed upset and reiterated that I had an appointment and I canceled it so they would not reimburse me. She then said, “so will no longer be a patient of Dr. Burr’s and I will remove you”. She also asked “Should I remove your entire family from our patient list” and I said sure. I was not planning on removing my entire family but at that point, it seemed like the right thing to do. In all the years our family had been with Dr. Burr’s office we had never experienced such unprofessionalism from him or the staff in the office. She seemed so upset with me because I voiced my experience and how I felt about the horrible work Dr. Burr did on my chipped tooth and the lack of trust and confidence they left me with. It was a heartfelt disappointment how she treated me after all the loyal years we had with them, especially my husband.
