Reviews:
We’re pretty new to Baltimore and had been looking for a dentist that took our insurance. We finally found one in Dr. Taylor. It was the first time in my fairly long life that I’ve ever been completely charmed by a dental office. My husband actually turned to me later in the day we went and told me “I had a really good time today!” That’s right. We had a good time at the dentist. Part of the appeal is the office itself, which resides in what was once a duck pin bowling alley in the basement of the glorious old Belvedere building. We went early to check out the building’s history (amazing! Go check out the exhibit outside the Owl Bar) and stayed for a drink at the bar afterward. The dental staff is exceptional. The receptionist came out to greet us and did so by name. The hygienist came out to the waiting room and chatted about our dental history before we went in. Then Dr. T himself. He didn’t just take a cursory look at x-rays and our mouths. He actually did the cleaning himself. He kept up a stream of conversation, a good bit of which I couldn’t actually hear between his mask and various dental whooshes, but the effect was remarkably soothing. He also specializes in special needs patients, because, well, that’s the kind of guy he is. The whole office also seemed to work well together. Collectively, they had a great vibe. Even the other patients in the waiting room were a delight–though at least one of them just seemed to be hanging out. I get it. It is a hidden gem of a place. My teeth feel great too.
I was referred to Dr John by the Autism Speaks Society after numerous attempts of finding a dentist who could help son. Our first visit was amazing and how easy my son took to Dr. John. Dr. John has a very gentle approach to special needs Dentistry I would recommend him to anyone whose child has issues with the dentist with special needs or not. The office staff is wonderful and inviting. That’s why I give them a 5-star rating!
Dr. John Taylor came to see my sister who is bedridden. He was very pleasant and professional. He was patient with her and completed the full dental exam and xrays. After the exam, we took the time to explain everything that was found and what the plan was to make her mouth better. I would be happy for him to come back and do the work needed. I trust him with my sister’s dental care.
