Reviews:
We were recommended here by our family
doctor. I read reviews leading up to my 4 year olds appointment & instantly had a bad feeling in my stomach about going to this “dental office”, but went against my gut feeling and decided to give them a shot and make my own opinion on the office – which I now regret.
I took my daughter in yesterday to have dental work done. We were told last minute that our appointment was changed from 1pm to 12pm, not a big deal except for the fact that we didn’t even get called back into the office for the consult until 12:45. Once the consult started Dr. Logan mentioned getting x-rays done. Upon looking at x-rays she determined that my daughter needed A LOT more work done than what my family doctor mentioned, enough to gain us two more appointment bookings. Which was odd because our family doctor just saw us 5 months ago.
After going over the plan for the dental procedure I was told I had to give my daughter an oral sedative mixed with tylenol – odd that it was my responsibility to do so, but my daughter took it no problem. 10 minutes later my 56lb 4 year old
couldn’t even walk herself to the dental chair. I carried her in and laid her down and was rudely tols to go to the waiting room. I was not even in the waiting room for 3 minutes before they were
coming out to bring me back into the room where my daughter was.
I walked into the room to my daughter wrapped in a straight jacket type thing with a nitros oxide mask on & a frozen mouth. The dentist told me she would be unable to do any work due to my child moving around too much.. My daughter could not even lift her head up. She didn’t know where she was. At this point I was ready to get the H*ll out of there so agreed we would see someone else. Upon leaving I was met with a debit machine put in my face and was charged $80 for a sedative that my daughter essentially got for 0 reason.
As we went to leave I was escorted out of the “vip” door, which is actually just a back door at the back of the building and then I had to carry my child who is almost my height and not the easiest to carry to the front of the building to my car, while also making sure i didn’t drop her as she could barely even hold her head up.
upon arriving home I decided to look at the blue cross claim the dental office submitted and found out blue cross covered everything from the appointment except $29.40. so I was charged an additional $50 for i don’t even know what.
I found out today that my 4 year old was given ATIVAN (not what they said she was being given) which isn’t safe for children under the age of 12. I went to look at the consent form they had me fill out and of course the name of the medication is no where on the form.
In my opinion this dental office should not be running. the staff at the admin desk was horrid and so rude. also useless as she was unable to answer any of my questions related to insurance, which is her job. This dental office is also black listed by manulife insurance due to them claiming insurance fraud. Dr. Logan should not be working with children. I essentially feel as tho my child was drugged and frozen knowing that work would not be done to her teeth just so they could get an easy pay check and waste money on my insurance.
My daughter was referred to treat the cavities there. She was only 3 years and ahalf and we are so nervous and not sure what gonna happen for her.
After taking X ray,we were told that there are many cavities in my daughter’s teeth and should be done 4 sessions, which made us exhausted.
Fortunately,my daughter seemed not so nervous here bcs Dr Logan and her staffs really knew how to make kids feel at ease and I think it’s a good idea to let us parents to give kids liquid sendative. My little wasn’t difficult to drink sendative at first time. And She had a trustful relationship with Dr Logab and Courtney bcs she was not afraid at all being alone with them for whole treatment process. We were relieved a bit until Dr Logan asked me in and told me that the cavity inside her big teeth was too deep to keep bcs this cavity was close to gum and she suggested to extract it bcs root canal would be unbearable for this little kids.I was on the brink of crying and finally accept this. This surgery went smoothly and my little princess cooperated very well.So we didn’t wait long when Courtney came and told that extraction was done and my daughter was so brave.Though it was hurting a lot for my daughter she was still happy to return back.
Afterwards next 2 sessions of treatments for my daughter’s teeth fillings were all going well though my daughter was moving a lot under treatment but Dr Logan made it happen every time. Also,my daughter was happy and relaxed. Each time she would say hi to Courtney like an old friend and happy to go with her for all the process and even say thank you when leaving.Only sedation part seemed not easy for her.
Today is our last session and when sitting sendation room my daughter fight a lot and don’t want to drink even one drop and we have to force her to drink into her month and this is really heart breaking. She screams and starts to vomit a bit out bcs she was resistant to this bitter medicine. After done,we gave her a hug and stickers and watched one vedio then she felt much better.Dr Logan had seen all of her fighting today and she told us in advance that she had to keep them safe and if she’s moving and fighting a lot during filling process, she recommends to come next time.We wait outside with great anxiety and finally Dr Logan came outside to tell us good news that all was done successfully and my daughter cooperate very well today. We are fully relieved until today.
It was really a great experience at Dr Nancy and we are so delighted today and appreciated the big efforts and support for Dr Logan and Courtney. So I highly recommended here.
I find the staff are very caring, kind and efficient. My son was terrified due to some dental trauma previously but both times here has been extremely positive. Dr Logan was very kind and patient with us, my son liked her immediately- and his appt went much better than I expected both times. She explained everything to me prior to the procedure, nothing was a surprise and she came out to chat with me during and let me know how it was going. It is evident she very much cares about the children in her care.
I also found the admin staff friendly and one sat with my sedated son at the end of our appt and kept him distracted while I got my insurance put through.
I’d try it out before listening to the reviews. Negativity is more apt to be posted these days than positivity.
We couldn’t be more pleased with how our appointments went.
