TLDR: Dr. Raj is more of a con-artist than a dentist. Do not go to this dentist if you value integrity and honor.

Full Review: I just had the most unprofessional, ridiculous, and borderline fraudulent experience with Dr. Raj and his team at Advanced Family Dental Care. I went in because I chipped a tooth and needed a procedure done. I went in to find out if Dr. Raj could help me. Of course, he told me that he could perform this procedure. I asked him if my insurance would cover the procedure. He took me to his computer and showed me that my insurance covers 50% of the procedure. Shortly after, Dr. Raj proceeded to perform the procedure to fix my tooth. We then got to the payment portion. To my surprise, Dr. Raj tried to charge me full price for my procedure. I called my insurance and they explained that the fax they sent over was not approval for the procedure, but rather an information sheet explaining everything I qualified for. Dr. Raj, himself too, was surprised because he showed me that I was approved prior to the procedure. I tried to negotiate with him because clearly we both did not know that this procedure was not covered. Dr. Raj replied with “you can either pay now, or I can send this bill to collections.” I felt cheated, ripped off, swindled, etc. This is not how a dentist treats his patients. This is how a con artist operates his business. DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTIST IF YOU WISH TO BE TREATED FAIRLY.

I am in from out of town and lost a filling. This doctor was willing to fit me in just 3 hours after I called. His performance was excellent. When you barely feel the shot for numbing your mouth, you can only be grateful. It took longer than any previous filling (about 20-25 min) but he took his time to keep testing my teeth to make sure the new filling wasn’t affecting my bite at all. He also had excellent bedside manner and put me at ease quickly but relating some personal experiences he had in my home state.

The staff at the desk was very helpful in making sure my insurance was lined up as well since there were some hitches in my information.

Unnecessary service and overcharging. My experience is they start with the regular service and after x-ray they say you need deep cleaning which is not covered by insurance. If you decline the deep cleaning they refuse the regular cleaning. so you ending up walking out with no service being done and they charging for the visit and xray. what a waste? I think they should tell the patient upfront about the process and wasting time and insurance money
