I had a very poor experience with the good Doctor.
I called and left a VM on a Friday and never heard back so a week later I called again and talked to a receptionist who set an appointment for an exam to check a chipped tooth out.
I went to the office and the process went smoothly. Dr. Shahreyar told me I should have a crown put on the tooth, which would take about 2 hours as they do everything in house.
The office staff said they would check with Medicare to see if they would pay. About three weeks later they informed me that Medicare would not pay and the charge was 2400.00.
I emailed back that this was a two hour procedure and most anywhere in the world the procedure cost about 500.00. I suggested 1000.00 was a very reasonable amount for the crown.
I waited a week and no response. I emailed again and no response. I called and left a VM, nothing. I finally stopped by the office and asked to see the doctor. The receptionist left the office area to presumably talk to the doctor and when she returned she said the doctor suggested I go to a dentist at VCU. I assumed this was because VCU has a dental school and they work on indigents. I asked her why they had not given me the courtesy of responding to my emails and she said the doctor handles that. I then asked for my records to be emailed to me and she agreed to do so. I was sent a single x-ray. I emailed back asking for ALL my records and then they sent the entire set of x-rays.
I happen to own a business and we routinely get asked to lower our prices, we rarely do but we ALWAYS give our customers the courtesy of a prompt response! We treat ALL our customers with the dignity they deserve regardless of their financial situations.
I am sure the doctor will do just fine without my business but I wanted you to know!

Wow in all my years I can sincerely say this office has a high standard of customer service, skills and empathy. From the moment you enter the greeting from Ms. Jennifer who is just a fresh of breathe air. She is so warm and helpful and you can tell she doesn’t mind going an extra step. The waiting time was perfect they respected my appt time which I loved. Office is very clean and put together! Full of cool souvenirs you get a glimpse of Dr. Sayyar journey! Madison who was my dental hygienist was amazing!! She is very knowledgeable and made me feel so comfortable even to discuss my insecurities about my visit. I didn’t get an ounce of judgement but advice and great recommendations! Dr. Sayyar is living in his purpose his demeanor was effortless very welcoming and sweet. Even though I spent a few minutes with him he was so kind! I can say he took his time with all aspect of his practice and achievements. I feel great to know that the oral health of my family will be in good hands! Thank you Dr. Sayyar and his team!
