The next day I asked for the receipt to be emailed and it was received with just item numbers on it and prices, ie Item 88013 for $27.50 and then 3 x Item 88455 at $105.70 each. I then emailed and asked “How do we know what the items are for?” My request was responded with by email but Chelsea failed to answer my question what the items charged were and she just said that she had circled the item numbers on the receipt. I again pressed to know what the item numbers were and she finally emailed to me what the charges were for.
Surprise….surprise….they had charged Medicare for 3 x item 88455 instead of 1 charge!! I suspect this dentist is a fraud because he charged Medicare 3 times on the children’s $1000 grant for the 1 procedure and I suspect this young friendly assistant Chelsea was a party to this because at no point did she say there had been an overcharge or mistake or offer any explanation for the 3 x charges for item 88455 until I pressed her to know what the charges were for.
At 5:14pm on Friday, 10 Jan 2020, the same day I posted the above review, I received a telephone call from Dr Jesse Wright. He indicated that Medicare rejected the 3 requests for payment of item 88455 that he claimed (I am assuming like the banks because they have a system in place to detect suspicious transactions and fraud). At no time did he explain why there was an attempt made to be paid 3 x for the one charge item 88455, nor did he indicate why Chelsea did not tell me this when I asked for the receipt details a few times. I wanted the receipt to know how much of the $1000 govt grant I had left. I discovered the overcharging by accident.
I asked Dr Jesse Wright what the purpose of the call to me was and he said, “The point of the call is that, we wanted to see….we haven’t heard from you, except when you requested the records to be sent to another practice, we wanted to 1) check and see how Toby’s treatment had progressed, we never heard back from you regarding what was done to the tooth”
Is he serious, many months after torturing my son and we have a new dentist, and on the same day the review was posted, he calls me and wants to know how my son’s tooth treatment is going and somehow expects that after attending a new dentist I would report back to him?
Dr Jesse Wright also indicated that there were a few errors in my review, namely he did not commit a fraud and neither did Chelsea, so upon his request I have edited the review. I will be instructing authorities to investigate the matter as it is clear on the receipt Chelsea emailed me that 3 x item 88455 were charged and the total amount Dr Jesse Wright claimed from Medicare was $344.60 instead of $133.20. If as Dr Jesse Wright said the payments were rejected there can be no disputing that there was an attempt to obtain 3 payments for item 88455. In an email on 2/5/19 at 4:17pm sent by Chelsea to me, she says “I have double checked with Medicare and they have refunded the item numbers.” I don’t know what that is supposed to mean if they received payment or not.
The receipt will however prove that NO pain killers were provided to my son despite the assertion on their website that ” Pain free treatment is a priority for us”. Despite the fact that there were a number of options available for him to use for pain relief, including pain killing injections and as advertised on the website, laughing gas, Dr Jesse Wright chose not to provide this for my son even though he WAS screaming in agony and I would like to know why?
