More recently, I called to see when Dr. Monaghan is working. I spoke to the receptionist, who seemed quite rushed when I called. I asked about parking et al and I was told there is parking available on the street (if I could find it). I didn’t like the vibe here.
Furthermore, the logistics of this location is simply a no-go especially when commuting more than 40 km round trip over the typically congested Lions Gate or Second Narrows bridges. His old location time is about 30 minutes at most, but a shorter distance.
I’m really disappointed that Dr. Monaghan chose this location and is working with this establishment. I was under the impression he will be setting up his own practise south of the North Shore.
As a result, I have to stick with his old location until my records are transferred to another dentist closer to home.
Recently, I went for my check up and was told that one tooth was decaying from the inside and it was suggested that I needed an implant or a plate once the tooth is removed. The hygienist let me see the previous X-ray from 1.5 years ago and said it was obvious that there was a dark shadow on the tooth at that time. I complained of pain when biting down on this tooth and Dr Huang said it seemed fine.
To date that dark shadow has grown considerably and the tooth is ready to break off (as she put it). The cost of the implant will be $6000+ or a partial $1200, and as a senior without a dental plan it comes as a shock. I question why this was not addressed 1.5 years ago.
I have lost trust in this dental office.
Once was OK, not any more IMHO.
