Reviews:
I have been a patient of the practice for almost 25years … and usually I have nothing but praise for the team – especially John – who in my humble opinion is an excellent dentist! Sadly my experience regarding hygienist appointments has over the years deteriorated. Whilst over many many years there was an excellent service – I found myself last year (having changed appointments from Mondays to Wednesdays) on 3 occasions on the receiving end of short notice cancellations from the hygienist due to various reasons. This required me to frequently change plans – which isn’t easy with a job and a young family. Now being myself a medical professional and facing patients all the time – I know how difficult things sometimes can be. However – my last visit in particular was utterly disappointing. I usually travel almost a good 50min to the practice – and sometimes traffic is unpredictable – irrespective when I set off. If there is delay – I tend to give a call – to let people know I am on my way, but have never attended ridiculously late and certainly never have the intention to BE late! Sometimes this is out of one’s control. Having arrived at 4:09pm for my 4pm appointment – I was straightaway ushered in – but only treated for possibly 3min(!)… if that. The explanation was: well that’s all that’s left from your appointment!!!
Whilst that is technically correct – there was only 1 more appointment after me – in other words the end of the day. I felt for an extra 5 min to give the appropriate care for my treatment should have been possible. Even if the next patient would have been delayed by a fraction of time, that happens in my practice a lot; Or I would have waited to not delay the last patient. Especially as it was the end of the day, as I travelled for >1 hr there and a further >1hr back – plus – being a long term patient of the practice … I somehow felt it would have been appropriate to not rush me through like this and give more consideration and have flexibility (within reason) to accommodate me. Something which I regularly practice in my own working field. I felt awkward and uncomfortable with the situation – which (in my opinion) could have easily been dealt with. Having been left with the feeling of being short changed – I think I will move my appointments back to Mondays.

I came to see Mr Valentine for a 2nd opinion, after suffering many months from tooth ache after receiving treatment from my own dentist, I have been back to my own dentist to try and resolve the issue, but the pain continued, so Mr Valentine explained my options and I went ahead with treatment, the procedure went well and though it’s been less then 24 hours since treatment, the pain so far hasn’t come back so I will be going back in a few weeks to finish the treatment, again Mr Valentine didn’t rush, he continue explaining throughout the treatment and I came away learning something new too, also all the staff were very welcoming and nice and I am thankful for the recommendation from a friend to try this dental practice, which can be worrying for my friend as not all recommendations can be spot on, but in this case, it was, so I shall be using this dental practice as my regular one, so a Big Thankyou to Mr Valentine and his staff
Excellent as always! I’ve been coming here for years and the experience has always been positive.
Had to cancel and re arrange twice prior to this appointment and the receptionist was very understanding and accommodating.
On this occasion I saw Tracy, the hygienist. Tracy is excellent, very thorough, friendly and knowledgeable, as all the staff are.
Would highly recommend!
