I had a poor experience at this dental office. I was given a deep cleaning because it had been over a year since I’d had my last cleaning. This was not covered by my insurance because of “insufficient pocket depth.” I didn’t feel as though I was given the option to have a regular cleaning, which is covered by insurance. The office told me I had 12 cavities that needed to be filled, then they set up and started a treatment plan. I had some work done on my teeth before I went for a second opinion. My dentist in California told me that in their professional opinion, after looking at my xrays, none of my teeth needed immediate attention if I wasn’t experiencing any sensitivity, though they would keep an eye on things just in-case. I was also told that what I experienced didn’t sound like a deep cleaning, but that the fillings that had already been done on my teeth were very well done.
I do not have an issue with the technical abilities of the staff, but rather the approach to patient care. I have always been sensitive about my teeth, and it was a big step for me to go to a new dentist. I understand that different dentists have different approaches to treatment plans, but this specific treatment plan seemed very aggressive. I now know that getting a second opinion is normal, and that different dentists will take different approaches when presented with the same information. I only wish I had been met with a more holistic approach, and that it didn’t take me leaving a bad online review to receive a call back from the office.

I have been going to Dr. Tregerman for years and have always been impressed how knowledgeable he is about dentistry. When I presented with a difficult dental issue, he provided excellent care and took the time to make sure I fully understood what was happening in my mouth. He cares and educates his patients. The staff and Dr. Tregerman are very welcoming and will do their best to see you the same day if there is an emergency – which is always a huge relief when in pain or discomfort. He has office hours that go into the early evening and on Saturdays (Sept – June), which comes in handy if you need to go after work or on a weekend. The office is easy to get to by train (6) the busses on Madison and Fifth Ave. I have had crowns, veneers and many cleanings. The veneers were painless and have changed my smile in a wonderful way.

This was my first visit, and I was so pleased with the services. The staff is very professional, the office is clean, and I was seen at my appointed time. The ladies at the front desk are sweethearts, they were so pleasant and helpful. They were very clear with my out-of-pocket cost, no hidden fees or unexpected costs. I had a couple of temporary crowns done, no pain before or after. Dr G. was gentle and thorough!
I also had my teeth cleaned, and again the hygienist gentle and thorough. They are located in a very accessible location. I would absolutely recommend this dental office!
