Longer story – I called in September 2023 to set up care for myself and my toddler. We had recently moved to the area. They told me new patient appointments were available in December. A few days before the appointment, we were canceled and pushed into February. The day before the appointment in Feb, we get cancelled and rescheduled for March. In March both of my kids had RSV, and while I was honestly tempted to just go in for the appointment anyway, I decided to do the right thing and cancel lest we get everyone in the office sick. So that one was on us. A new appointment in May – cancelled. Booked into July.
This is where it really started to sting. I had a family trip scheduled right around the time of the appointment. **I tailored my trip itinerary so that I could make the appointment with Hanover Dental**. I planned to fly two days later than I’d originally wanted, because I was so desperate to receive dental care at this point. It had been a year and a half since I had last been seen by a dentist.
The night before, they cancelled.
No reason why. No offer to reschedule. They did put my son on the calendar but by that point, our insurance had changed, so he could no longer be seen at the practice and we had to schedule him with a different practice. I asked if I could have his appointment and was told no, since adults need 2x as long as children’s appointments. I asked if there was any way I could be seen that same week. They told me they were booking new patients out into September.
Like another reviewer mentioned, save your time. Go to Manchester or Concord and don’t bother with this place. It’s a gigantic waste of time and literally no accountability on their end. I was never given an explanation for WHY the appointments kept getting shoved. I could understand one, or MAYBE two, being due to providers having emergencies or being sick or something. But four? With no explanation?
I have never been so frustrated with an appointment process as I was trying to have one here.
I think the issues with this dentist end with the front desk. My partner, for instance, was recently on the phone with them right before they closed and instead of just saying, “We’re about to close. Can I take your number and call you back in the morning?” They asked to hold and then hung up.
Old review:
The website said they were accepting new patients, so I filled out new patient paperwork and never heard anything. When I called to follow up on three separate occasions over the span of three weeks, the receptionist took my number and said she would call me back–and each time, she never did. I just followed up for a fourth time and was told they are no longer accepting patients.
Frustrating because my partner is a patient here and I could have been using this time to find another dentist in the area.
