I am a huge chicken when it comes to the dentist. I have multiple horrible experiences with every single dentist I’ve ever been to in my 36 years of life. Until Dr.Gary. he is the most compassionate of dentists. He takes the time to actually listen to your concerns. And ACTUALLY hears what you are saying. Then he uses all of what he’s heard and does his best to help you through your visit/procedure. I can now go to him for a filling without flinching. I just had my very first root canal, which I have heard from multiple people are absolutely horrible, and it was no big deal! The bedside manner this guy possesses is what ever dentist should strive for. He also has some of the BEST dental assistants. One in particular (you know who you are) used to be a nurse and you can definitely tell by how she also listens to your fears and worries and helps you relax and feel safe. I absolutely recommend Dr.Gary and his Harborveiw Dental team. Also, the receptionists, are super awesome and welcoming as well!

I went to my very first appointment thinking x ray exam book another appt. But instead left with 2 fillings and a numb mouth haha the service was very fast and financially I as kept up to speed. Dr Gerry was great at letting me know what was going on the whole time.

My Second Visit was better as I previously went to 2 different dentists in Nanaimo and Victoria and they could not do root Canals for some reason and referred me to a specialist that wanted $2K up front. Dr Gerry just did and the fee was billed to my health insurance now my tooth feels better after 2 years. Thank You
Today I received 2 crowns in a very efficient time frame. I have had more dental work done here than any other dentist I had in Nanaimo or Victoria. My dental health has progressed at a very rapid pace as at other dentists I would have to wait for a month and then come back a month later. My mouth feels very healthy compare to a few years ago. I highly recommend this Dental Practice.

Insurance fraud

I went to get my teeth cleaned, and they asked if I had benefits so they could charge the benefits. I gave them my information, then did my teeth cleaning. While in the chair, they said I have a cavity and need to book an appointment to fix it. So when I went to the front, I had to pay for what my insurance did not cover, and it was four times the price I was told it would be, so I asked them why, and they gave me a list of things they did, but they did not do it. They were trying to scam money out of the insurance company, so at a later date I told her I would book an appointment for the cavity. I would like it. To be more transparent next time and explain what happened in a calm tone, the lady on the phone got mad at me, then said I am Taking me off the list, they have never had that before, and she was mening. They have never had someone complain about the dentist office trying to scam someone’s insurance company; they are criminals.
