A few days following our initial review, Hedgewood House contacted us in response. We’re pleased to report that they have refunded the cost of the consultation. While we’re glad to have the issue resolved, it’s disappointing that it required significant effort on our part for such a simple matter to be addressed.

Original Review:

I am extremely disappointed with our recent experience at the Hedgewood House Dental. My wife required dental work and made it abundantly clear at every stage that she was pregnant. She informed the receptionist both at the time of booking and upon arrival, and reiterated this to the dentist in the consultation room. Only then was she told that they could not proceed with the dental work until after her pregnancy. While we understand and agree with the caution exercised due to her pregnancy, what followed was unacceptable.

Despite not receiving any actual dental service, my wife was charged for a full consultation. I attempted to resolve this issue amicably by calling the office, only to be promised a callback that never materialized. After several attempts over a week to reach the office manager, we were consistently told they were unavailable.

It’s disheartening to see them handle a sensitive situation so poorly, not only in terms of patient care but also in their customer service and billing practices.

My overall experience as a first-time visitor at Hedgewood was excellent. I did a complete oral examination which included X-rays and oral check-ups.

The environment is neat, warm, and minimalistic, and the facilities are in good condition. There are individual rooms for different dental services so that clients can enjoy the comfort of privacy. The staff is welcoming and helpful, especially Stephanie, who helped me prioritize dental treatments under my insurance coverage.

I enjoyed the student discount and was surprised upon receiving a gift bag after my oral check-up– it included an electric toothbrush, a water bottle, dental floss, and a lip balm! Every client who completes the same check-up gets a gift bag 🙂

I find the service relatively affordable given the quality of the facility, the service, and the added student discount.

I’m no fan of going to the dentist, was pretty traumatized as a kid when dentistry was painful and not as advanced as it has become today. Hedgewood house is not only in a really nice location with parking, the inside is clean and everyone is very friendly. They’ve been great giving advice, addressing concerns and helping me on a path to a great new smile. Highly recommend them!
