Reviews:
There are mixed reviews all over the board w/HH & each experience is different. So, I’ll start with the positive…the Pediatric Side of Hope Health Waxahachie is usually helpful and genuine. I especially like Mr. Andrew (I don’t remember his degree title nor his last name); but for many reasons, he’s everything a family practitioner should be. However, I must invoke My impression of the adult side of the practice, which pales in comparison. I don’t typically write negative reviews, but my experience was sadly awful. As some lower-income neighborhood healthcare clinics go, there are several different HC professionals who revolve. While on occasion, some of the NPs & MDs I’ve seen have been professional, good listeners and sympathetic to my needs, there is one doctor in particular who has gotten away with very disappointing behavior. Unfortunately, I got nowhere with the clinic’s management staff when trying to address the issue with my last visit in AUG ’23. I attempted to speak (via email & on the phone) to someone about Dr. Yarmchuck, who by appearances, looks like a sweet & humble older man. When I started to be concerned with his lackadaisical approach to my health needs, I told him I would record our conversation. He gave me a generic physical exam, checking reflexes & flexibility. After informing him of my long-term health issues with chronic pain, and then just having had experienced a car accident which aggravated those issues, I requested a referral for an MRI. (I had just gotten new health insurance and was hopeful to get some answers.) He snickered and said, “No”. I asked him why. He responded, “That’s not our process”. I tried to explain how I’ve had chronic back, neck & knee pain and have seen other doctors, tried other therapies, treatments, etc. for many years; but it made no difference. He asked me what I thought an MRI would show. Confused by this question, I gave him a list of several medical possibilities, (especially after an accident). By the look on his face, I don’t think he was expecting me to know about those possibilities. He suggested starting with physical therapy for 6-8 weeks and coming back to reassess. He would not show me any mercy for what seemed to me to be a logical & reasonable request as his paying client/patient. After all, he isn’t in my body to feel what I’m feeling and know what I know. Again, I practically begged this man to write me an MRI referral, and he refused. I left that office feeling deflated, confused, irritated and hope-less. I tried the therapy clinic he referred me to a couple of times and it was the same as all the others I’d been to. I knew it was going to be a waste of time and money out of my pocket so I stopped going and went my own way. I called, sent emails to Office Manager (Lorena Quintero) at Hope Clinic, hoping maybe someone would help to keep this from happening to another patient. She sent me 1 initial response that said she spoke with Dr. Yarmchuck and, “He is declining your request for an MRI and suggests you get a second opinion if desired”. Yes, that’s already been established. His behavior is the reason I’m writing/calling. I asked her who I should speak with and there was no response at all. I was ignored again and again. There was no apology nor any resolution made. His inappropriate behavior was being protected and accepted. I’m just one ‘whistle-blower’ out of many in the area of Waxahachie who have had no other choice but to go to Hope Clinic because they can’t afford insurance and most other doctors won’t see them. But what if the care people are getting isn’t helping or solving their problems? We depend on the expertise and empathy of all clinic staff. Recently, I learned that the clinic is moving to a brand new larger facility. There are contributors and investors happily giving their money to this initiative who are under the impression that Hope Clinic is doing good in our community and providing hope. Unbeknownst to them, doctors like Yarmchuck may be providing lackadaisical medical care and leaving people like me, Hope-Less.
I will never seek services again from this place. They say that they offer services on a sliding fee scale, but then proceed to charge standard dental office fees of over $100 for exams and x rays! That’s NOT a sliding fee scale at all. If you are charging over $100 for exams and X rays then you are basically charging the same price as any other dental office. I am not okay with the fact that I feel that my time and money was completely wasted!

I also want to add that this place always schedules dental appointments out at least (2) Months out, so if you are having any kind of dental issues, whether it be pain, discomfort or anything, you will have to wait until (2) months to see them, and then you get there to your appointment thinking that you will will receive a “Sliding fee” price, and then you find out that they are basically going to charge about the same price that you would pay if you would have chosen a closer dental office right around your own neighborhood. So again, if you do NOT have insurance and you chose this place because you felt that they offer a real sliding fee scale, then you will be majorly disappointed!

I have been seeing tamara for four years and my sessions have always been weekly or biweekly. Now at this place I’m only ever able to see her once a month. I received a call today to let me know my session was cancelled and the next available one is September 11th (over a month away). This upset me and i was voicing that to the lady on the phone and she says i can see another therapist, to this i say no because i don’t feel comfortable talking to a person I’ve never met before and I don’t want to start over. She then goes “you’re griping at the wrong person, what do you want me to do” like seriously?? I may actually stop coming here after that disrespectful interaction. How are you in customer service and working for a therapy place and thats how you speak to someone who’s legit crying? Beyond rude. Beyond unprofessional. Kiss a loyal patient goodbye after that unacceptable treatment.
