Root canal. They fill it with something. Should the filling be felt as a jagged ie rough small clump on the back of your tooth?.. and the doctor saying “all good to go”. I’m saying “why isn’t it feeling with my tongue like it did beforehand?.. can you smooth the material off?”. He did. But come on. Isn’t it procedure to ask the patient after the procedure how the back of the tooth feels to the tongue? And he said “well it’s not like you’re going to be touching it a million times a day. You’re just touching it right now with your tongue because it was just done”. I said “surely my tongue touches it ONCE a day” and that’s enough if it feels like a dried clump of filler abnormal feeling as to prior getting it done. Astoundingly daft. Dental 101? Ask the patient how it feels to the tongue and be prepared to grind with your 10,000 rpm mini dremel that takes a few seconds with each touch to smooth it to where the patient says it feels like natural. To be detailed enough to do the procedure on the tooth.. there is zero excuse not to be detailed enough to see something like this. It would be obvious looking at it by a doctor if it felt like a clump of material to the tongue.
Is it most of Northern Arizona doctors are half A’d.. or is it just Kingman? Kingman is BFE outpost when it comes to a lot of medical. I miss the normal thorough doctors of Bellevue, WA years ago. Don’t want to include Prescott or Flagstaff in that because not knowing how they are there. It’s an attitude of hastiness.. and is ripping off basically. For sure in Henderson NV there’s better ones. Bullhead and Havasu are probably even better staffed with more thorough doctors. This seems so basic as to be stupid. How could any material be left to make it feel unlike natural? That’s like a doctor putting an implant in with a clump on the back of the tooth implant.
We thought it was supposed to feel natural!? Really?
It’s malpractice.. akin to a doctor stitching an incision all rough without the two ends meeting evenly, one side of the incision bunched up like a clump.. so it is upraised scar tissue. Not thorough.
My evaluation exam & x-rays was the most miserable experience I have ever had at any dentist in 65-years. They are using some new technology that does the x-ray electronically that will take the image and display it on a screen as they take them. They put a sensor with a cord attached in your mouth that captures the image. That sensor is attached to a set of disposable plastic backing plates that they break apart from each other. These backing things are part of a sheet of plastic parts that the dental hygienist breaks apart and uses each piece, attach the corded sensor and shoves it in my mouth. The thing has sharp edges and splintered plastic where it goes against your gums – and they have you bite down hard. After the third x-ray- my gums are bleeding from being cut by these sensor backing pieces. I stopped the process and showed her the sharp edges and told her that it hurts very bad – she did not care.
I endured the pain of the x rays and gave her some serious feedback after grabbing one of backing pieces and showed her where the parts break apart, it leaves a shattered fragments of plastic sticking out – and she shoves those into my gums. She did not give one care, and just said that “this is the new way for x rays” I continued my exam with the doctor, mostly without any issues. I explained to him that the x ray experience is miserable – in front of the staff in the room.
At the end, All I wanted to do was get out of that place… The front Receptionist handed me an appointment card that I canceled the appointment days in advance, but they called me to say I missed that appointment – that I canceled more than one day in advance. I will NEVER go back.
