Reviews:
We had been a part of Dr Kohans roster since 2014. My husband has been the only one to visit his practice. That being said our entire family is still assigned to this office. Our son needed to get into a dentist asap as his wisdom teeth are starting to hurt him. Rather than paying cash out of pocket as we previously have done, I thought we’d use our dental insurance that we’ve had since 2001. Upon calling this office today I was talked to in a very condescending manner. I repeated myself several times stating that we are not considered a new patient as we are already assigned to Dr. Kohan. His staff member stated multiple times that this panel is closed and we cannot be seen there and I need to call my insurance company to find a new dentist for our son. I reminded her again that we are already patients and included in his panel and have been since 2014. At this time she handed the phone to someone else (in doing that didn’t say one moment, nothing..so i have no idea someone else was about to start speaking with me) The person talking over the call said her name and “i’m the office manager”. She continued to tell me that their panel is triple closed and we could not be seen there. I said I understand this is what you are saying however we are already your patient can you please double check. She said we cannot do that here you need to call your insurance. Clearly she did not understand me either so I repeated myself and said please listen, we are already his patient. I know you are tripled closed, you mentioned it now four times, can you please double check for me as I know we are on his roster. We do not do that here. Ok great. So, I said now you want me to call my insurance company to change my dentist for an emergency visit to someone we have never been assigned to because you cannot check to see that we are indeed your patient since 2014? The call ended. Said manager called me back to remind me that she was the manager and has double checked and we are indeed their patient. Unfortunately, I had already contacted Cigna to immediately have the change put in for our son to be seen tomorrow by another dentist that is willing to provide better service! Horrible experience!! I’m guessing since they are already “tripled closed” this is a mute point as their patients are already locked in, however I would think twice about your dentist and staff as there are PLENTY out there with better customer service who won’t treat you like you have no idea what you are talking about. Today they lost our family of four!
The super humans family of professionals is his office. Due to my job nature ( RN on call with never known scheduls till Sunday 1800 and every evening 1800), I had to make and change apointments with him sometimes 2-3 times per DAY!! I felt hopeless sometimes, myself working in a direct patient care – it was more important than my own pain 10/10 during a few weeks to be ontime with my patients when they needed me. His wife, Victoria, not only assured me it is OK, she texted and emailws to my personal phone and address, and staied in a touch with me daily, trying to find a window for me to be seen and helped. A strong ethics and genuin availability, perhaps one of the highest professional level in his area, and healing rewarding human interactions are alwas very touching here. I know I will be seen when I needed, urgently and and I will be able to put my patients care firts, and be sure that my suddent problem is the priority for this Doctor and his family. This exceptional Dr does understand what is sencere patients care. Lord’s blessing to you and your family, peace and prosperity to you! You make me a better person and professional because you are in my life, Doc, K and Victoria. This doc is an encyclopedia of the art and the most contemoprary schience in his area – 3D diamond- like technology for a crown when the rest of the USA DDS charge 2-3 times more for prehistorical, ugy looking, medeviel time torture- like procedures and results. I feel blessed to know them
I started going to Dr. Kohan’s office about 9 years ago, at the time when he was still in his old office (on Rand and Arlington Heights). I did not get any recommendations or referrals to him, simply went because this dentist was in my insurance’s network. Boy was I happy I ended up with this dentist! He is the best dentist there is, without any exaggeration! For the past 9 years I have never had even one bad dentist appointment. Not only myself now, but all my family of 6 are going to see Dr. Kohan’s regularly for cleaning and other dental needs. We had feelings done and crown inserting by him. He is excellent! The stuff that works there are also all amazing people! Thank you, Doctor Kohan and all your wonderful team, for making going to a dentist a pleasant experience and for taking such a good care of me and my family! I truly appreciate all you do!!!
