Reviews:
I’ve been taking my kids to Knox Co Dental for years and have never had anything bad to say about the staff. The ladies that work there are wonderful!
However yesterday was my first ever interaction with Dr. Cheek. I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth extracted. They were not impacted so it was supposed to be an easy procedure, but it was the worst experience of my entire life. I don’t even know where to begin. I appreciate a speedy procedure, but he was very rough and ripped right through the extractions in less than 30 minutes to the point where I was yelling in pain and bawling my eyes out because I was not fully numb. He was extremely aggressive with his tools, causing lacerations on my lips which have now turned to blisters. When I complained that he was hurting me, he said there was nothing he could do about it and went on to comment about the size of my mouth, as if it were my own fault. Where other dentists would kindly ask you to turn your head, Dr. Cheek would hook his finger under my top teeth to move my head around which was very unsettling. And when he saw how upset I was after he was done, he became very condescending and asked me “what did I expect?” I’m not sure what I excepted, but it wasn’t to leave there traumatized with my lips busted open. I’ve always heard the joke about dentists enjoying causing pain, I never believed it until I met Dr. Cheek. I will never sit in that man’s chair ever again, nor will I ever let him near my children.
My husband was a patient of Dr. Cheek’s this past Friday for a total of 4 teeth being extracted. We were both VERY nervous, last time my husband had extractions the dentist was unprofessional and took her sweet time, causing his anxiety to go up more than it needed to. We live an hour away from the Danville clinic, but boy we will gladly make that drive again if need be!!!! Dr. Cheek was very friendly, extremely professional, SUPER fast(my husband had all 4 teeth pulled in less than 20 minutes!!!). He is one of the very few doctors who did NOT want to push antibiotics on him for no valid reason, and he actually took the time to explain his reasoning to us, which made perfect sense!! Dr. Cheek is hands down the best oral surgeon I have ever seen, I will be recommending him to anyone I can!!!

I’d also like to add that their main receptionist, Christine, was AMAZING. We hit a snafu while trying to figure out if his insurance was accepted, and Christine was super patient with the process, very friendly anytime I would speak to her on the phone, just overall an incredible addition to the staff!!! Very impressed

I had an extremely awful experience with Dr Cheek specifically when he took out my wisdom teeth. He caused me infection, extreme pain, a ton of money, and unnecessary time off work. I ended up having to pay out of pocket to go see a different dentist and fix his bad work (he did offer to fix this for free but I was so uncomfortable going to see him again after he did such a bad job to begin with, I denied his offer). I have absolutely zero confidence in this oral surgeon and I highly recommend you tread lightly when going to see him.

As for the rest of the staff, they are angels and were absolutely amazing to work with. I hate to write such a negative review but I’d hate even more to see anyone else have to go through what I did.
