I’ve just had the most unpleasant experience with my regular GP. The clinic requested an appointment after just days ago having been released from hospital after a stroke and carotid artery surgery. After waiting in reception for 45 minutes I get a call from Dr Nava to do a Telehealth appointment after booking face to face. Once entering his consulting room he asked how can I help you. Nothing about how are you or any normal expected communication. He was more interested in spending inordinate amount of time consulting his computer and telling me I was on the wrong medication for blood thinning when my surgeon had organised things properly. All this time I’m thinking am I in a bad dream.
Finally after much back and forth and with me thinking I’m going to have another stroke I just get up and tell the doctor I’m leaving and walk out.
I subsequently confirm with my surgeon that I’m on the correct medication.

Unfortunately I could not give a NO star rating for the receptionist at this centre as this site doesn’t provide that option. I have dealt with thousands of people over my career in the Victorian Health system across the state and I have never experienced a more rude, obstructive, judgemental and downright nasty attitude from anyone as I have from this staff member. She really needs to reassess her career choice as frontline staff are the public face providing the first impression of an organisation and her attitude is wanting. Therefore I suggest she either moves on or works hard on her people skills before the organisation loses what patients they have due to her unprofessional behaviour.
Having a sick little one with a sudden ear infection, my regular GP was fully booked. The clinic was able to give me an appointment in the afternoon, we waited barely 5 minutes and were seen by Dr Joyce, who was very sweet with my 4yo. She was also super practical, giving me the script for antibiotics, but advising I could wait to see if it passes (as they often do) so as to not give antibiotics if unnecessary. Would definitely go back to see Dr Joyce again. Thanks Lakeside Medical Clinic.
