An all around great experience. Nobody loves to go to the dentist. Dr. Poteat’s office was able to squeeze me in to check a tooth I believed to be abscessed. I was completely expecting a script for antibiotics and to come back. Dr. Poteat said he could remove the tooth right then and there. He was very soothing and explained everything as he was getting ready to do it. Told me what type of pain to expect and when. Prior visits with a dentist in Florida have been nightmares so I was petrified of how this would go. I will be going back to see Dr. Poteat for regular cleanings from now on. All staff members that I came in contact with were very pleasant. Very nice atmosphere and down to earth dentist.

The best dentist I’ve ever encountered, bar none. I live in NYC but have come to Asheville for the past two summers. A friend who lives here recommended him last year. Months before we arrived this summer, I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Poteat–he’s that good.
I am blown away by his intelligence, warm, funny demeanor , skills and carefully considered strategy for tackling some serious dental issues. I’ve never encountered this level of care before. I like it! The staff is equally talented. Thank you, Tracy, Annie. A great experience all around.

Said it 5-years ago and I’ll say it again….Dr. Poteat is absolutely the best there is. He finally got me in for a cleaning and it had been a long long time since I had been for a routine dentist visit. He outlined a plan of action and we’ve ticked away at it over the past 6 months. I refer anyone that I know looking for a dentist to see him. He and his staff are simply the best.
