Reviews:
Unfortunately, I had a stressful experience at this dental office, and it will be my last visit after having a substantial amount of work done. I already had a previous incident a while ago that left me concerned.

My dental hygienist, Nadiya, cracked my enamel during the cleaning. Instead of apologizing, she explained that it was my teeth’s fault due to crowding. I found this response unacceptable and highly unprofessional.

Additionally, after the cleaning, I experienced unusual sensitivity and was rushed out so quickly that I felt like a nuisance. Normally, I receive a warm welcome, but this time it was quite the opposite. I had previously informed the hygienist about another tooth missing some enamel and specifically asked her not to use any metal tools on it. This should have been noted in my chart at my first visit, but my request was ignored. Instead of offering a solution for the newly damaged tooth, I was recommended Invisalign, which felt like a push to spend more money on services I don’t need or want.

It’s been over two weeks, and three of my teeth keep bothering me–the two with missing enamel and a third one next to them. I have mild pain and sensitivity. At my previous cleanings, I was usually offered a fluoride varnish, but this time it wasn’t mentioned. Instead, I was hurried out of the dental chair. Upon checkout, I had to ask for this service myself to get it done (routinely).

To make matters worse, the doctor was on vacation, so I couldn’t discuss my concerns about this incident.

In fact, Dr. Umanoff’s work is outstanding, as I had a few crowns with him. He has a good bedside manner, unlike other staff members.

I was in shock after this experience and will not be returning to this office. I cannot recommend their dental hygienic services to anyone because I’m literally crying over my damaged tooth.

P.S. The cost of cleaning has doubled since my last visit, and I see no reason to pay such a steep price for below average service.

P.P.S. Loyalty is invaluable in this industry. Instead of finding a new dentist in my new out-of-state area, I chose to return to this Brooklyn office because of Dr. Umanoff’s excellent work on my crowns. I don’t mind paying double for quality care as I’m very selective when it comes to choosing my medical providers. But its dental hygienic services require serious attention and reorganization.

Finding a dentist is easy. Finding a dentist who won’t send you looking for a dental surgeon if you need a complicated procedure, not so easy. At LuxDen, that’s not an issue.

Also, it’s not just your teeth that are in good hands, but you as a person. You walk into a cozy office that helps create a very relaxed atmosphere, meet very friendly and professional staff, and soon there’s a short wait for the doctor or the hygienist. And once called in, you meet caring people with many years of experience, and, importantly, with a gentle touch, who make an effort to make you as comfortable as possible. This makes long procedures seem short, and what you’d normally expect to be painful to feel like minor discomfort. They let you take a breath and even stop them during any procedure at any time if you need it for any reason, so you can feel confident that you’re not just glued to that dentist chair for the entire duration.

When was the last time you were actually looking forward to visiting your dental office? Come to LuxDen and it might be the first time that you do.

Dental fears can often stem from broader fears or bad childhood experiences at the dentist office like I had before. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Steven Katz for making such a positive impact on my dental health and well-being. This is the first dental practice I look forward to going to. Everyone in the office–the front desk, medical assistants, and doctors–are genuinely kind, incredibly friendly, and make a point of explaining in layman’s terms the procedures they need to perform and why. I have never had a better experience at the office of any medical professional. The best experience at the dental office. Extremely professional. They are really the best and I’m so lucky to have found LuxDen-Dental Center.
