The dentists here are caring but the billing lady Fran is disrespectful, disingenuous, and extremely combative and aggressive. I called to request clarity on my bill and Fran would not let me speak at ALL. She immediately became aggressive and defensive when I asked for clarity on my bill because I was under the impression on the last visit I had to McCarl Dental, that I made all payments according to the estimate provided. Based on Fran’s presentation of my bill, I made the required final payment. I even asked Fran to call my insurance company to verify coverages and she said that she did.

Today when I called to inquire about the unexpected balance on my bill, I could barely get a word in, there was no discussion just gaslighting. During this call Fran talked and talked and talked AND talked. I did not interrupt once. When I began to ask a question and seek further clarification, Fran cuts me off and starts saying ‘she has been doing this for 40 years and and she knows what she’s doing and no one leaves the office with a zero balance, and that she doesn’t know who I spoke with initially (she is the only person that sits in that back office and deos finance)…. Bla bla bla’…. After she finished her 3rd rant I politely ended the call, misery loves company and the spirit on that lady was so dark….

Interacting with Fran in-person left me feeling uncomfortable and belittled, she is no better on the phone, no couth at all. I will never go back to this place or refer anyone I love here. Going to the dentist is stressful and expensive enough without having to worry if you will get scammed or have to deal with such a disgusting human. I will be following up with a complaint to the BBB and the Maryland Attorney General because I still don’t understand my medical bill and I still feel misled.

I paid about $2000 to get teeth extracted, extractions that the dentist said she could do. Only to discover later from another dentist that a fragment of a tooth is still remaining inside my gum and starting to decay. When I called, McCarl Dental Group I was told I would have to pay again for services I already paid for because apparently it’s been too long. I find that to be a poor excuse considering that I trusted dental professionals to do a complete job and left myself in their care, but they took my money and failed me. Also considering that dental exams are annual, sometimes biannual depending on insurance, and that I myself am not a dental professional, nor do I have the tools or equipment to know that there is a fragmented tooth inside my gum. Now I’m dealing with a great deal of pain, decay, and another large sum because they didn’t do their job. I believe that this practice needs to be looked into thoroughly. Either complete the service I paid in full for or give me a partial refund for the partial/incomplete work that was performed. I came to this office because of the good ratings, but I’ve learned that reviews can’t be trusted and are even manipulated. Also, truthful reviews can be shadowbann3d. I hope this office will do the right thing. For now, I don’t recommend coming here or you might find yourself paying for incomplete work and with more expenses trying to rectify their mistake.

Excellent. I got my appointment time wrong and as a result, I arrived 20 minutes late for my dental cleaning. I apologized profusely to Nancy, my Dental Hygienist. She was most kind and gracious in spite of my lateness throwing off her schedule. She could have rescheduled me or just stopped the procedure when her next patient arrived. Instead Nancy cheerfully completed my cleaning, after which she took the time to show me how to brush my teeth properly in order to prevent the cavities, plaque and gum recession I’m currently experiencing. Nancy is an excellent hygienist, professional, informative, warm, kind, patient and above all, caring. Thank you, Nancy.
