Reviews:
Don’t let this dental office or dentist fool you. He has great staff, and he is very knowledgeable as well as experienced when it comes to dentistry, but he is also a very smooth talker. He will try to convince you to do procedures that are very unnecessary and may cause harm to your oral health in the future using his charming down to earth demeanor to persuade you. He is the type of dentist who is very antiquated, close minded, and has a western medicine based outlook by the books type of guy. He can be very close minded If you try to present any new information to him that he hasn’t heard of. He’ll undermine what you’ve expressed by using subtle forms of passive aggressiveness, belittling you, stating he is a expert on the subject matter due to “his 20+ yeas in dentistry and degrees that he has acquired. One more tactic of manipulation that he likes to use is that if you have a opposing opinion or suggestions about your dental health he will seek support from other staff working for him, to try make a case for your “inadequacies.” Once he succeeds, its even more difficult for you to prove that you’re suggestion may be valid about your health. All of his staff work under him and are hired by him so it’s a given that they would agree with him since they would not want to get in trouble with their boss. Overall though I would say he is a great dentist. He just has some quirks but if your willing to be firm about what you want with your expectations for your oral health as well as deal with minute oddities then it will be a great experience for you. Remember this is your body and your health so he is just the one getting paid for his services and doesn’t have to deal with the repercussions of your health in the future
Short version:
The dentist who can address issues like crowns is in only on Fridays. I think this place is fine for routine cleanings, but I opted to find another practice where the dentist has more availability (and hopefully is friendlier).
Long version:
I went in December 2023 as a new patient and was content with the new patient exam and cleaning, except that they did not address the loose crown I mentioned. The crown came off completely in early January. The first appointment I could get was for today, more than two weeks after the crown came off. Upon checking in today, the person at the front desk told me that (1) I had to get an entire new set of x-rays–even though I had x-rays as part of the new patient exam just last month–because I had new insurance effective 1/1/2024, and (2) I would have to pay for a new crown if the dentist decided not to re-cement the old crown. I asked if the dentist could tell me from looking at last month’s x-rays and the crown whether or not he would re-cement the crown before starting any new work. After speaking with the dentist, I declined service. The dentist seemed knowledgeable but was less than friendly. And if I might have to start from scratch with the crown, I’d rather do so at a place where the dentist has greater availability. I went home and made an appt with another practice who said they couldn’t book a full new patient appt for me until late February but they will address my crown next week as an emergency appt.
It’s my second visit to this place. The doctors here are always in a rush to finish the task and will pay no attention to your concerns. I was telling the doctor that I was in pain. The Doc was least bothered and was in a rush to attend other patients. She did just cleaning even that was not fully/well done. I had tarter on my teeth and she had no time and patience to remove it properly. I came home and checked she left some here and there that I was able to remove with my finger nail, lol! Both the times I faced the same issue. Doctors are always in a rush to just finish and go attend other patients. I have no idea why they schedule too many patients at the same time. I got done general cleaning before but this is the only place where the doctors didn’t have time to floss which is the basic step for cleaning. I think they have to start valuing patients n their concerns instead of focusing on the number of patients and the money they make. Sad! Will not recommend nor will visit again.
