Earlier today I was suddenly shadowed by misfortune of requiring immediate emergency dental care.
I found myself dialling random dental clinics in search of anyone able and willing to provide an immediate remedy for me.
Montmorency Dental Group was third on my list of random clinics to call as there were no availability for an immediate appointment with my first 2 calls.
I was put onto Dr Ooi who was able to empathize my situation, but unfortunately was also in the position of being fully booked.
However, the panic and distress in my voice must have been acknowledged for Dr Oi to unexpectedly suggesting that he will try and contact an existing patient with an appointment coming up in an hour to ask if that time slot can be passed onto me instead, which was indeed arranged.
Dr Oi’s willingness to go out of his way to accommodate my need, who at that time was just someone random him gave me all sorts of emotions and of course most importantly, relief.
Being someone who has lived their entire life with extreme dental anxiety possibly due to a forgotten childhood traumatic dental experience has prevented me from having a dentist nor a dental clinic I visit regularly.
My procedure with Dr Ooi was surprisingly quick and painless leading me for the first time to nominate someone for that position.
What started off for me as an unfortunate event turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
