Long version: After moving to St. Johns, I needed a new dentist. I called in January 2024 and they scheduled me for July 2024 – which was fine as it was for a regular cleaning and I know it can be hard to get scheduled as a new patient.
Ahead of my appointment I had an old filling that I could tell was getting loose. I told them about it during my appointment and they looked at it and said “it looks fine but call us if you have issues later.” Later that same day, the filling fell out.
So, I called the next morning only to discover they do not schedule any appointments other than a regular cleaning. And because I just had a cleaning, they couldn’t schedule an appointment to fix the filling. Instead, I had to just show up whatever morning I’m able, sit and wait, and just hope they have time to see me. I showed up on a Monday right at 8am only to be told there would be no dentist in that day. I showed up again on Wednesday and sat for two hours in the waiting room. I then asked the front desk if there would be any chance at all they could see me that day, and she said I’d just have to wait and see. I promptly left, called another dentist I wasn’t even a patient at, and they scheduled me for just a couple days later and fixed the filling for me.
Not once in my life have I heard of a dentist who wouldn’t schedule an appointment to fix a filling for one of their patients. I told second dentist – who happens to be Bath Family Dentistry – what happened and they just couldn’t believe it.
I HIGHLY recommend Bath Family Dentistry – they will be my dentist moving forward. And I highly recommend avoiding My Community Dental Center in St. Johns as they have shown they don’t care about their patients. They simply want to churn out as many cleanings as they can and not bother with actual patient care.
