Reviews:
Dentist (Crystal Baik) and hygienist had a very stiff tone and overall unpleasant attitude while cleaning my teeth. My patient education was approached with a disrespectful point of view without disregard for personal reasons as to why I had formed cavities. Dismissed my case as a form of self-neglect due to me leaving for college and not having “mommy remind me to brush my teeth,” if not the exact quote, that was still the gist of her commentary. Came back to receive fillings, and I could tell the process was rushed. My maxillary first and second premolars have been bonded together by the filling so it is difficult for me to floss between those two teeth. I have to wiggle the floss in between the smallest gap. One year later and all of the fillings have insane sensitivity under cold and hot temperatures and also provide pain when biting into crunchy or hard textures on those teeth with the fillings. I have kept an excellent cleaning regimen – flossing and brushing twice a day – which, by the way, she had her hygienist “show me how to properly floss” as if I were not a grown college student studying healthcare. I know how to floss my teeth. She herself seemed aware that her filling performance was not properly handled as she told me to contact her if I felt sensitivity with my fillings – which sounded almost like a warning. Will not return. Went to another dentist within the insurance network to fix this disaster. She also shamed me for not wearing my retainer and says that my teeth have shifted, but I have worn my retainer every night… maybe she should take it up with my orthodontist? I have tried emailing them to give a personal notice to my experience but no response has been given so I am sharing my thoughts to the public to keep in mind.
I went to Optima Dental to put a crown because my old crown fell off. Despite I liked Dr. Baik and she was kind and knowledgeable, I do not recommend this place. They showed an estimate of the total process for putting a crown after the insurance, and when the treatment was over, they asked me about 130 dollars more than the estimate which was almost 40% more than what they said in the beginning. Also be aware that they do not offer root canal treatment and I had to get that done in another place which delayed the overall treatment compared to other dentists that offer root canal treatment. And if this happens to you and you are stuck with Optima, make sure that Optima sends X-ray photos to the endodontics place because they did not do so for me.
Dr. Baik is the best. She’s very kind and patient, and explains everything better than any dentist I’ve had. She has a great touch, I got a painless cavity filling and deep cleaning. Her staff are all great, too. The office manager Sindy was extremely helpful. Highly recommend.
