The morning of 13th Feb I called Pacific smile Frankston asking for last minute appointment for a checkup and clean. I made sure to tell the person on the phone I have concerns with my wisdom tooth as I expected it’s coming out. The person booked me in immediately for an appointment later that day. I was very grateful.
Arrived at the clinic I was expecting a checkup, scan and clean like I asked on the phone. I expressed my concerns about my wisdom tooth that’s coming out and explained that it’s causing discomfort. She took me to get a scan. We came back to the room, the dentist explained what she saw on the scan. She then did a clean around that wisdom tooth which took her a few minutes at most to do. Then told me to rinse my mouth after she finished. I was confused as to why she didn’t clean the whole mouth, and asked if she could do a proper clean cause that’s what I came here for. She said she only has 10 mins until her next appointment so she didn’t have time for me. I was disappointed but was okay with it.
At the end of the appointment I asked her questions about the wisdom tooth removal process as I have never had it done before I am very unfamiliar. I asked a lot of questions and didn’t get any clear answers to the questions. The most I got from her was something along the line of “you need to see a specialist”
Coming to pay at the counter I was so shocked that the cost for this appointment came to $380. All I got was a consult with a dentist who couldn’t answer basic questions about my concerns, a scan and a few mins of cleaning around a tooth.
I had to find another dental clinic because after my very expensive trip to Pacific smiles dental I still didn’t have any answers to my concerns. I got everything done at another clinic for a total price of $60. (the scans included) The dentist there was very experienced and knowledgeable, were able to answer any questions to my concerns.
**** Hi team, thanks for your response, I won’t be emailing you team as I am not ever plan to return. I wanted to share my experience to the local people to hopefully help them make an informed decision of where they should go for dental care. I’ve received an unfair treatment from your clinic and I don’t want anyone to experience the same.
Kind regards,
T
I went back 4 days later as my tooth was still sensitive and they did nothing apart from con me into taking more xrays and charge me another consultation fee 4 days apart. I spent just under $600 and still have a sensitive tooth/teeth – what’s even better is they told me on the 2nd visit they couldn’t help me I would need to book in with the specialist as they were unsure of my tooth needed to be extracted and that was going to cost me another $200 for a consultation! For the same tooth! That’s 3 consultations. Absolutely ridiculous. So disappointed as I had explained I was extremely anxious about the dentist. Needless to say I won’t be returning.
