I went for a check up last month, needed one filling in a back tooth, I’ve only had 2 other fillings in my life, all on molar teeth, but I always paid the extra for white fillings because I’m conscious about how dark fillings look. The dentist didn’t discuss any options with me, just handed me my file and told me to go and book in with reception, I went down to the receptionist and asked if I could have white, she asked why I didn’t discuss it with the dentist I said I didn’t have chance he just told me to come down and book in. The receptionist couldn’t get hold of the dentist for a quote/confirmation so said she would call me back with a price. Two days passed and I hadn’t had a call, so I called and asked again, they went away and asked the dentist and I was told it would be around PS65 (I can’t remember the exact amount, but all I wanted to know is that it wasn’t crazy amounts of money, as my previous ones were around 60 each, but that was 15 years ago.)
I said that was fine and she said it was down for a white filling, great.
On the day I went in, teeth cleaned and filling done, went down to pay and I was charged PS41.40, I thought it didn’t sound right but assumed the initial quote might have been wrong, in the back of my mind I think this is when I realised something wasn’t right.

I got home and look in the mirror to find out I’ve had a metal filling put in, instead of the requested white filling.

Now I’m stuck with work I’m not happy with and will have to find a competent dental surgery to remove the mess these have made and replace it, more discomfort, more money, more time wasted.
I don’t trust them to get it right again so sadly now I’m stuck looking for another dentist at a time when you can’t get one.

I’ve been going to the Pennwodd Dental Practice for around five years and I’ve always had a really good experience at my appointments. The dentist is brilliant and all of the staff lovely. I took my little boy for his first dental checkup today and they were all great with him. Highly recommend.

Was a patient with this practice before the covid era! The dentist then was excellent, and a really genuine nice chap. Then, Pannell moved in, was with him for a period, but as stated, soon as I questioned the covid scenario, I was removed? Much more extrapolation required here??
