My mom and I were looking for a closer dentist because although we live in the area we were going to a dentist in Torrance because my dad had them as a kid. Anyhow my mom and I found Dr.Trent through our eye doctor next door. I have to say Dr.Trent and staff are so sweet and caring. Of course my mom got a clean bill of health with her teeth but I unfortunately needed a lot of fillings re-done from grinding my teeth(I’m still not done). Upon explaining to Dr.Trent of how I despise the shots no matter how numb I get, he assured me that I’m in the best of hands there.He also did prescribe me a an anti-anxiety med to take the night before and hour before my appt and also gives me the nitrous oxide. Let’s just say it helps but I don’t mind feeling drugged up and being almost completely asleep so he can fix my teeth. He is super gentle and re-assuring.His assistant is super patient and kind and held my hand the last time because I was so scared but she calmed my nerves. Thank goodness my mom could drive me home and we only live down the street. Thank You Dr. Trent for having the assistants follow my mom home to make sure I was okay getting home with her. I’m so glad we found this close dentist. As I’m writing this review,I can hear Dr.Trent in my head saying “are we still friends after he got me through the rough appointment”?, yes, Dr.Trent we are. You are super caring and compassionate and I really appreciate your patience and letting me have the last appt and closing down the office with you because I had to come out of it and get back on my feet. I know I have one more round to get through and I just want to say, Thank you for all of the care you have provided this far and I’m looking forward to getting the last of my teeth completed.

Was looking for a new dentist after my dentist of over 20 yrs retired. Found Dr Shimizu after several positive community reviews for Dr. Kanemaki’s practice.

Yesterday was my first visit/exam. I appreciated how welcoming everyone was. My appt was right on time. My exam was a success and they were even able to schedule me for a cleaning today.

Today’s visit was just as enjoyable as yesterday. My hygienist was very nice and thorough. Happy to have found this practice.

Positives:
* Friendly staff,
* on-time,
* did not try and schedule me for deep cleanings and other procedures I did not need,
* did not use that irritating fluoride gunk on my teeth when my cleaning was done.

Dr Shimizu is the ONLY dentist I go to now. I’ve been seeing him for about twenty years now and I’ve tried a couple of other dentists but they don’t even come close to Dr Shimizu. He has that combination of compassion and conscientiousness that you need from a doctor, especially if you’re in pain. The staff is really nice and they run a great practice.
