TLDR – If you go here, you may receive a new bill years past the service date and then have it sent to collections within 2 days if you question it.
This was our family dentist for years. I remember chats with Dr V about cub scouts as our kids were not too far off in age. I moved closer to Woodinville and changed to a dentist closer to my house. Over 5 years after one of my kid’s visits, they decide to bill me for something they said they had not billed me for before, a routine exam. They said `there has been a lot of staffing issues in the office’. They said `The exam … wasn’t covered because it was the 3rd of the year’. I called to ask for information, and said we don’t have more than 2 routine exams a year, and that they should just write it off because ultimately it was their 5 year old error. (The rest of the routine visit they said was covered by insurance, just not the exam). Whether it was a coding error, lack of bookkeeping, or staffing issues as they claim-sending out a new bill 5 years later is wrong. They did not send any proof of an unpaid balance after the date 5 years ago. After this amount of time, I would not have kept any records of payment, statement of accounts, etc. We were good customers that any paid bills, that weren’t covered by insurance, on time. Within two days of my calling to question the bill, and stating that it was 5 years ago, they sent the amount due to collections.

I’ve been coming here for a few years now and have consistently had high quality service. Everyone is pleasant and extremely competent. The receptionist/office manager knows how my insurance works and advises my scheduling with mastery. The dentist is excellent and has a great touch. I never feel pain. He is also honest. If I don’t need work, he doesn’t suggest it. The support staff is great too. I highly recommend this clinic and do so to my coworkers since my office is very close.
I broke a filling and finding my current dentist of 15 years was no longer in network with my new company’s insurance plan – I called Dr. Van Der Sluys’ office. They were able to get me in the next day with an office visit to assess the situation. Once I got in – the visit turned into a full restoration with a new filling – all in less than an hour. Dr Van Der Sluy was incredible and got my tooth fixed so fast I could not believe it. Great job. I have found a new dentist.
