Two days later my right side of my cheek was swollen and I have a large amount of pain radiating down my jaw. I decided to get a second opinion from another dentist who took photos of the gum showed me where the gum was inflamed and said you I have a mild infection. The doctor said if I had waited another few more days the infection would have spread under my jaw and beneath the tooth and recovery period would have been two weeks instead of a few days. The doctor prescribed me with some antibiotics and mouth was to keep the gums clean.
I called Canberra City Dentistry and spoke with a male receptionist and explained my situation and requested I receive a partial refund. The receptionist booked me in to see Dr K Sinn to discuss further as he is the one who charged me. (It seems the Doctors are hired as contractors).
When I went back to see Dr K Sinn (having waited 20 minutes past my scheduled appointment) the doctor was very defensive and was adamant it wasn’t infected. So I reluctantly allowed him inspect the infected area…bad idea. He immediately touched the sensitive part and I had to ask him to stop.
After 15 minutes of back and forth I eventually asked to see the manager. Turns out it’s the receptionist. The receptionist asked for the details of the other dentist so they can get a copy of the report and make an assessment, which I provided.
I still wasn’t happy with the service I received but couldn’t do anything else. Then as I was leaving the receptionist said “normally we’d charge a $50 consulting fee, so you’re up $50 anyway”. I turned back and said, “I spoke to you over the phone, you knew my visit was a complaint and you allocated my time accordingly”. He kept going on about they normally their dentists are all contractors and charge a fee of $50. In the end I walked back to the reception desk and took the paper which had the other dentist details from his hand and said “it looks like I’m getting nowhere here, forget about it”.
All I wanted was a partial refund, which doesn’t come close to compensating me for the time and pain I’ve had over the last few days. I just hope this situation can prevent anyone else going through the same ordeal I went through.
I was pleasantly surprised and impressed how the Staff and Doctor’s are so Wonderful , my first time there in Canberra City Dentistry .
Doctor looked at my teeth and also taken some X-ray, he is thoroughly at the his job .
I was comfortable and calm , be come back again.
