RUN, STAY CLEAR! they are scamming many. my friends just got screwed there. wrong procedure done, and also not finished. my friends got screwed out of all their care credits and health insurance there for this procedure. Here’s what she had to say bout her experience:
“”The dental professionals there are nice but we were duped. We were told one thing while discussing treatment/cost while my husband was in the chair. We filled out an application for care credit to cover what we thought was the TOTAL of his treatment *minus the 4 wisdom teeth extractions* but low & behold, After 1 root canal,1 crown& 1 filling we had maxed out. (Leaving to be done: another root canal& couple more filings, one of which was a visible tooth with a hole on the outside of the tooth that was what we were TOLD was part of that treatment plan) While I did talk to 2 different people about what they call a “misunderstanding” nothing was resolved! Bottom line is we were told one thing & got something else.. an unfinished mouth. To add insult to injury, while they did apologize they kept saying “it’s in black& white” yea, well how did everything change from the chair to the front desk to the approval of care credit. When we signed we thought what was being presented was the 1st step in his care plan…not the ONLY step that was going to be covered. For 4,000 my husband could of gotten a full set of dentures instead of being slowly bled to death financial & having only a quarter of his mouth fixed. I’m EXTREMELY disappointed because the hygienist & dentist were great, kind& comforting but the person handling the communication of cost & what was ACTUALLY GOING TO BE COVERED was a terrible & sneaky experience.””
My wife and I both got our teeth cleaned here. The staff were all pleasant enough and we were both given fine teeth-cleanings. However, when my wife went in they told her that she had 6 cavities and periodontal disease; when I went in, they told me that I had 3 cavities and early-stages periodontal disease. Because we both try to take good care of our teeth and because we did not have dental insurance, this came as quite a shock to us. We were told we would have to pay thousands of dollars out of pocket for deep-cleans and cavity fillings. On top of this, we were told we would have to come in every three months for the rest of our lives for deep-cleans because of our periodontal disease–but that our teeth would end up all falling out eventually because of it anyway. We were both reduced to tears at this news. When we moved to Minnesota about a month later, we both got appointments to see my wife’s uncle, a well-respected dentist in the Minneapolis-St Paul area. He told my wife that she had one cavity and no periodontal disease; he told me that I had no cavities and no periodontal disease. Furthermore, as it turns out, periodontal disease is quite rare for people under the age 45 (My wife is 26 and I am 28). When we explained to him about Farabee Family Dental’s assessments of our teeth and gums he was pretty troubled.

To reiterate, Farabee Family Dental wanted us to pay thousands and thousands of dollars to drill holes in our almost entirely cavity-free teeth.

Do not take the advice of Farabee Family Dental without getting a second opinion.

I was actually warned about this business, but foolishly did not listen and went here as it was convenient. My son and I had moved to the area, and our previous dentist never noted any problems with our teeth. We regularly had our teeth cleaned, twice a year, and never had any problems. When we visited Dr. Harris, he stated that I had 9 cavities and needed two root canals. They instill this sense of fear that your teeth will fall out immediately, if you do not get them fixed. Even with insurance, I paid thousands. It’s my fault. I knew the risks with this dentist and had a little voice telling me not to believe them. Next time they told me I would need a crown, on a tooth that didn’t have any pain. . . I went to Highland Creek Family Dental instead. They looked at it and just needed to put a small filling in it. And it has been fine ever since. When I called to have my x-rays transferred to Highland Creek, it took 2 weeks and 3 phone calls before they did it.I don’t know if the dentists are just oblivious and don’t care about the financial impact of their “emergencies”, or maybe they truly are scammers. I like to think the best in people, but it is hard to, with these guys. If you must go here, take everything they say, with a grain of salt.
