I can honestly say this is the best dental clinic I have been to so far. I feel very grateful that our public dental service has in its employ kind and competent staff who go above and beyond to provide the dental care I have needed. I have seen dentists at both the New Town and Rosny clinics for check ups, x-rays, cleans, fillings and a tooth extraction and I have always received exemplary care. The waitlist for routine care (check up and clean) is far too long, but this is the government’s responsibility to boost funding for dental care so that it’s not only emergency care that is provided. The only personal negative I can report is having a referral to the Oral and Maxillofacial Unit at the RHH not submitted, which meant I waited two years for an appointment from a referral that wasn’t received. The Southern Dental Centre rectified this for me free of charge.

A mixed review of oral health tasmania from me! Maybe if I hadnt had to wait 6 years on the waiting list for a general check up, maybe I wouldn’t have needed so many fillings! But this is no individual’s fault. When I actually have had appointments, I have been very impressed by short time spent I have spent in the waiting rooms compared to other health services, and all the staff have been excellent and professional. Dr Nick at Newtown today was especially kind and gentle and great at explaining what he was doing, which I greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Went there to get a bad tooth out waited over 2 hours just to get the wrong tooth pulled OMG Yes that’s right they pulled out the wrong tooth and charged me the same for pulling 2 teeth the week before so don’t know how they work out the cost witch is fine if they get the right teeth out now got to wait a few days for next appointment to get right one’s pulled out .
