My husband chose Sunflower based on all of the fantastic reviews that they had, however after visiting we were a bit surprised and frustrated to find that we were charged and billed for things that our insurance didn’t cover. When I asked if they looked into a patients account prior to see what their plans/policies were covered, I was given a blanket response that stated it was our responsibility to know what was covered, and that they “usually” tell you when a service being performed is going to be a bit extra out of pocket, however that was not the case. The team was friendly, however the extra headache of trying to figure out they we are receiving extra bills was not worth it.
In response to their response, no. There was no printed treatment plan before work began. Hence this review. When I called after receiving our initial surprise bill in the mail, I was connected with someone that gave me straight up attitude and not communication or explanation. Also, it’s odd that they have a man in his 40’s Floride treatment when insurance doesn’t cover that after your teenage years.

Dr. Justin Lieneck is awesome. Informative and compassionate. I’m looking forward to the journey of getting my smile back. I’ve seen a few negative comments in which i don’t agree with. If you’ve neglected going to the dentist, like I have, your insurance may charge extra for deep cleanings or tartar ablation. I had the latter and it was due to my negligence. I wasn’t over charged and the out of pocket cost was presented up front. I’ve visited a few offices for my needs and this office has went above and beyond my expectations. I’m still in the preliminary stages, but this office has earned my trust. Looking forward to my wife commenting on my beautiful new teeth.

I have worked in healthcare for over 25 years and know good care when I see and experience it. Dr. Lieneck and the staff at Sunflower Dental are professional, patient and kind. I was impressed with the level of care from the front desk to the clinical staff. I have had some negative dental experiences in the past but dealing with this office was top notch. The treatment plan was clear, straightforward and reasonable. Dr. Lieneck explained the procedures well and made me feel comfortable and respected. I would and will recommend them to family, friends and colleagues.
