I was promised to see my wisdom teeth post extraction without any problem from the doctor. This is one of the few reasons I agreed to do my wisdom teeth although I had huge fears about the procedure/sedation. The nurse (who heard in the room) before I was awake threw my teeth out. It just feels cruel to promise a patient something harmless & to take it away from them. Once again in my life I’ve felt violated & didn’t expect this mental re-traumatization after an oral surgery. Realize your patients are human & that simple requests (that are legal & approved by the doctor) should be followed through. I’ve spent now hours of my recovery crying from the pain & loss of control from my own body anatomy that this experience brought up.
